obviously I don't mean death but can you take too much of it that it will make you sick? I just recently started taking 2000mg a day along with my multi vitamin and though I feel fine I'm just wondering if I will eventually get sick?

no!! certainly not on only 2grams(2000mg).

consider 2 time Nobel prize winner;DR. LINUS PAULING phd-who authored
the book "cancer and vitamin c" and well as many other publications used to take as much as 18 grams (18000mg) per day.

ps. dr. pauling died at age 93 I believe. however you may read a plethura of his works on the net.

I personally was told to take 1000mgs per hour by my physician
when I had a bad nasal infection a few years ago.
I generally take 2-6 grams per day regularly however.

Vitamin C has a relatively low toxicity and is water soluble making it easy for the body to excrete. You will know right when you are taking too much because the first symptom is diarrhea. Many consider it safer to get Vitamin C from a dietary source rather than eat synthetic abscorbic acid. There is a berry called the Camu Camu berry that is the most concentrated natural source of Vitamin C known to man. Learn about it at http://www.bartenblends.com
I take it everyday, it is very affordable, it costs me less than 3 dollars a month to get the RDI of Vitamin C everyday.

yes, too much vitamin C can aggrivate the lining of the digestive tract, giving you unpleasant symptoms. What most people do not realize is that if you eat a balanced diet, you are getting all the vitamins you need, and any more from supplements is dangerous, and the water soluble ones you are just pissing right out. Vitamin C is water soluble, so it can't build up in your fat deposits. Other vitamins that are can be quite dangerous if you take too many.

'NO', You cannot OD on VIT.C. The body flushes it through urine. You can take about 1,000 ( 2 TABLETS) everyday to stay healthy. Anything more than that will be expelled from the body. The body 'knows' what it needs. Hope this helps! Good luck!

what I have heard and I too have started taking vitamin c the worse that can happen is you would get a kidney stone or gall stones. but from what i have heard the good it does outweighs the bad. since we are humans we don't make our own vitamin c like animals does so really who is to say how much is too much.

Actually Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin. It means that it is actively excreted by your kidneys. So dont worry.

vitamins c and b are water soluble, so unless your taking so much that your body just cant get rid of it fast enough (ie like 10 pills all at once) the excess will just be expelled as liquid waste.

I don't think so...I think Vitamin C is one of those things where your body takes what it needs and expels out the rest when you pee....I'm not 100% sure of this though...But I think that's the case.
