A friend of mine who is a Muslim whishes to change her religion to Christianity. She was earlier a Christian and had changed her religion to Islam when she got married. But now she is divorced. She stays in a Islamic country (U.A.E) and cannot change her religion from Islam to Christianity. Her family is christian and they wish to have her back. Can she travel on a visitor visa to Canada with her family, then change her religion from Islam to Christianity and apply for asylum along with her family to settle down there. Is this a successful possibility for her and her family.

yes it is possuble as once she gets Baptized in canada she has to prove that her life is in grave danger and cannot return . it also depends on her native country other than uae . if there is no threat there then she will be sent there . if the rest of her family is in canada then there will be noproblem, contact a good lawer and do your ground work before you start . and you have to prove persicutio and possuble death to get assylum . in canada it is pretty easy that too if she is qualified. need some good lawers mail me and iwill let you know

That's a grey line I do believe. I'd say she needs to consult with Canadian immigration, or have her family start the proceedings for her.

How can they say she can't change her religion? It's a choice, isn't it? Do they make you fill out forms that declare your religion whenever you do something?

Good luck to her.
