everybody says bearshare or kazaa will give you viruses but if it does why do some people still use it???and what makes you think limewire is safer wont it be the same if you scan the files you download???

Kazaa and bearshare are programs that actually install things like spyware on your system. this is where the majority of problems come from not the files you actually download. Limewire is a little bit better about not installing those bad things on your computer. however, scanning all files you download is also a good practice.

Kazaa is the worst program for downloading anything. Limewire is much much safer then Kazaa. Kazaa actually installs spyware and adware just from installing the program itself, Limewire does not. If you are using Limewire just for downloading music, documents, and videos, then you will be fine. Its very rare to get a virus just from downloading those things. If you try to download software or games, then you have a very very high chance of downloading a virus.

i HAVE TRIED HE OTHERS YOU MENTION AND THEY ARE VIRAL corrupted. I have Limewire Pro and it is or does not come with any virus or spyware. I use it all the time and have downloaded many songs to transfer to a CD and there is no corruption or difficulties at all. I have several ant-virus programs on my computer and none report Limewire as infected when a scan is undertaken.In fact, my AVG by Grisoft tells me if indeed a proposed download is infected before downloading it and stops it in the process as does Limewire itself. It is self-policing in nature and will allow you to know if the proposed download is junk or not.

You can get viruses from all of them. But from my knowledge Kazaa is more infected as it has been around for longer.
Some people just get off on stuffing your computer up! You just have to be smart and work out what files look sus. Run an Anti virus and keep it up to date, antispyware + firewalls are also recommended.

just stick with regular limewire, its free and you get good enough results to not have to worry about getting pro... as for viruses.... i havn't gotten a virus with limewire yet and i have had it for a year so yeah...

well people stioll use it becuase its free and they want there music.but there is other free ways to get music without getting viruses.no limewire is jus as bad as those pograms.http://www.imgdump.net they have a music search to download free music without registratyion or signing up so you just go in and get out.
