My doc gave me a script for Trazadone and I took one last night and now I can't hardly move from being so groggy. Any suggestions on how to wake up from this fog so I can get some stuff done? I have already been drinking a ton of coffee...not working! Help!!!! :)

There are a couple of things you can do. I have sleep apnea and cannot get to sleep and once I am to sleep I wake up. I have tried all sorts of sleeping pills and they all seem to do the same thing to me as they are doing to you. I tried breaking them in half and taking them earlier but the sleeping pills still made me groggy. I tried Melatonin and that worked for a while and then became in effective.

I finally found the answer for me and it is cheap. I use generic Valium 5 mg - I break them in half and take one at 9 PM and take benadryl at 9 PM - I sleep like a baby and wake up rested - Oh yes only take one 25 mg of benadrl. This combination has worked for me for several years and it is cheap. One bottle of generic Valium costs me 2.50 for 60 - 5 mg tablets and since I break them in half they last me about 120 days. The Benadryl is I think around 5.00 and there are 100 tablets per bottle. That works out to about 7.5 cents per day. Not bad for a good night sleep -

Hope this helped you

Hey,,,, next time,, take a half a tablet.... now that you know how they make you feel....

You may just have to let it wear off....

PS: have you tried benadryl??? it will make you sleepy but maybe not so groggy and its OTC.....

good luck

If a Doctor has the following initials after his name (M.D. or D.O) yes he can legally prescribe you some sleeping pills. however, you can usually pick these up over the counter at your local pharmacy. The side effects are usually drowsiness.

you should let the remaining drug to wear off from your system before you can do your thing. you dont have a choice but to doze
it all off until you are not groggy anymore.

I would try melatonin from now on. it doesn't leave you groggy like sleeping pills do.
