A Dizzy Gelespi. Really, let's see: I'd go for an apple martini.

The soulful notes of a saxophone and the intense guitar rips are sounds you will experience in Barcelona walking down the streets or passing by a club. Perhaps jazz wouldn’t be the first type of music to come to mind when you think about this city, but the jazz scene in Barcelona is one of the most popular musical attractions. In fact jazz is so popular here, that there is an annual jazz festival that draws an audience from all over the world.

When you are deciding just how you want to spend your evening in Barcelona keep in mind the incredible jazz scene that exists here. Clubs, lounges, cafés and bars frequently have jazz nights that are either open mic or with scheduled entertainment. Audiences are a mix of college students, musicians and grandparents, some lifelong jazz fans, others experiencing this super cool style for the first time.

The jazz scene in Barcelona can be traced back to around 1929, when the Universal Exhibition introduced Barcelona to well-known British and American jazz orchestras. From this point on bars such as Edén on Nou de la Rambla pumped new jazz sounds throughout the night to musicians and fans alike.

Jazz record labels have been created here and when browsing the CD section at any music store in Barcelona you will find countless albums, some mixed with Flamenco or done in Spain’s own chillout style. In all its forms, jazz is vibrant in Barcelona, a musical style you will not want to miss while you’re here.

I'm not sure you will ever look cool in a jazz bar but try a Shirley Temple

ODouls is a non alcoholic beer. I too do no longer drink yet have not any problem in a bar. Nada coladas (no alcohol) and numerous beverages without alcohol. Margaritas would be made without alcohol. I usually get eating recurring cola and ask for a cherry or 2 in it so human beings dont start up asking me why I dont drink. I merely dont. in specific circumstances i'm getting lemon.

You are too phony for jazz. Leave now and go to a rave. Order some neon colored drink.

If your going to stay for a couple of sets order something that won't do you in too fast. Martini's aren't one of them. A great specialty beer like Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale would be my choice.

Amaretto on the rocks- smooth like jazz

It would have to been something classic like a good rye whiskey or bourbon on the rocks with a water back or a muddled old fashion or manhattan.

Order what you like. It is silly to order something you may not like just to look cool.
