Birthday Cake Cones

1 (18.25-ounce) package chocolate or yellow cake mix
30 each flat bottomed ice cream cones, (buy more just in case some are broken)
1 cup prepared frosting (homemade or store-bought)
1 (2.1-ounce) NESTLE® BUTTERFINGER® Candy Bar, chopped, divided use

Preheat oven to 400° F.
Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions. Stir in half of chopped Butterfinger. Spoon 2 tablespoons cake batter into each cone. Place cones in the cups of a muffin pan or on a baking sheet.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in cake comes out clean. Cool completely.

Decorate with frosting. Sprinkle with remaining chopped Butterfinger. The cones are best served the same day as they are prepared. Makes 30 cones.

note: Don't overfill these cones! If you do, the batter will run down the sides.

Cheese Lollipops
Serving Size : 18

1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 pound (1 cup) American Cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon sliced green onions
1/4 cup finely chopped peanuts
18 pretzel sticks

Beat cream cheese and milk in small mixer bowl on medium speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth (1 to 2 minutes). Add cheese and green onions.

Continue beating until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Cover; refrigerate at least one hour. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in peanuts. To serve, place pretzel stick in each ball.

TIP: To pack along: Wrap the cheese balls in plastic food wrap. Be sure to keep this cheese snack in a take-along cooler so the cheese stays cold. Place pretzel stick in each ball at serving time.

TIP: This cheese mixture can also be shaped into a log and rolled in chopped peanuts. Serve with assorted crackers.

kids love cookies, how about a BIG cookie. They are really easy to make. Here's a good one. If you want other types (I have with brownies as a pizza base too) email ShariPamperedChef@si.rr.com

I know you are looking for a snack but my kids take stickers and balloons (deflated) or pencils once we did a mix of dollar store toys and the kids liked these things better than any treat i have ever taken in.

Last Christmas I made white chocolate covered apples for my child to give to classmates. It went over GREAT. Buy small red apples and follow directions on white bark chocolate bag for melting and dipping. White sticks were bought at Walmart in the cake decorating section of craft dept. After dipping in chocolate I rolled them in crushed peppermints. You could roll in multi-colored sprinkles. Wrap in colored plastic wrap and tie top with a small piece of ribbon. You could even attach a small "gift" to the ribbon. My daughter and I had a great time making these.

By large pretzel rods, dip them in melted white chocolate or milk chocolate and roll them in crushed candy canes. After they set and harden, you can place one each in a decorative plastic bag and tie off with colored ribbon. I use these for bake sales around the holidays....always a hit with the kids!

Apples are cheap this time of year. You can also buy little cups of caramel to dip the apples in. You can buy pre-cut apples at my grocery store for like $4.

When I was a kid, the absolute favorite thing was when the birthday kid brought in moon pies. All the kids went ga-ga over them.
