I didn't think it would come to this, and my feelings on this is that I really feel sorry for our society to follow such a plea. It is a destructive action that will only harm people. I pray that my Christian brothers and sisters take notice of this trend and be more compassionate towards people who think that we are wrong for our beliefs. Instead of preaching for people to know what we are about, maybe we should show people the right way by our lifestyles and actions. We need to show more love to one another.

Absolutely, The Christian religion, contribulted to the Bush campaign and lead the public to believe it was God's will to go to war with Iraq, the Republicans were Christians and made the Democrats devils. It wasn't like that at all. It was playing refree to two radical islamic religions that are in opposition to Jesus Christ as our savior. In the Bible God denonced false religion and pagan religion. He today would denounce them so why is the Christian religon supporting the notion of protecting them from each other? It is all about the money and the Evalgelists are all multimillionaires. Who actually do nothing if anything to help the poor. The Republicans the suposed Christians rob from the poor to give to the rich. The Churches support it because they are big businesses. The Muslim religion is all about murder and conquests. They kill Christians in that country and it is against the law to be a Christian in that country. So why is the USA dieing to protect those people from each other?
It is all about protecting the oil interests, when if that much money was spent to get alternative fuels the problem would be solved. But the religious leaders support the oil industry.
86% of Republicans own stock in the oil industry.
We were the inventors of the world from Automobiles to Airplains to computers to even the bomb. Now we can't figure out how to use alternative fuels. Some third world country like Brazil does it first? Makes me wonder how they got by with fooling the people so bad. We may not have sugar cane, but the switch grass in OK makes a better, higher octane fuel and it is not being used.
It has been proven a better fuel and it is certainly plentiful.

It may come to the point that PUBLIC displays of religion are 'forbidden', (which is indicative of our time in prophesy) but NEVER will anyone take away anyone else's inner being and it's ability to worship. Mankind is the only species WITH the capability to worship, and nothing anyone can do to the outside will change what is on the inside.

When I think about all the horrors that people have justified using religion, and that goes for Christians, Muslims, and everybody else, I think that maybe the world would be better off without the wide boundaries that religion sets between us. I think that human used religion as another means to see the differences in people. “They are not like us.” – The most hated and feared tiny sentence ever uttered.

But I don’t think it is possible. Humans will continue to use religion as their weapon and justification. People are just too ignorant to treat religion as it should be treated; as the personal ideals of one and not the law of many. Even though I think we have evolved past the basic need for religion, to give some sort of explanation for the power of nature, I don’t think people will ever give up on religion. People need to be able to think that there is a higher power that will eventually take them away from the crap that Earth has become.

The Bible says that soon the governments of the world will turn against all false religion to destroy it at God's direction. It has existed in print for thousands of years. Only the true religion will remain and then, Satan will draw attention to it and try to have them close it as well. This will be "like touching God's eyeball" and he will turn on the governments to destroy them. That is the way Armegeddon will begin. Did you not read this??

In the book of Revelation, the bible speaks of removal of religion in a symbolic form, and that the world will TRY to put an end to religion, but his true people will remain. A comforting scripture to hear that backs this up is found in Zechariah 2:8 where it says:8 "For this is what Jehovah of armies has said, Following after [the] glory he has sent me to the nations that were despoiling you people; for he that is touching you is touching my eyeball." So god will not allow to have an end put to his true worship to him. Kinna deep if you ask me but i hope it helped anyways :)

Wont happen. Religion isnt the problem. Its the religious leaders that mislead their followers that cause all the crap. IE. Cristianity....Jesus said there is no reason to worship in a church. Or to worship a book. Yet.....the fanatics still do. Most religion views gods work as anything that they cant understand. Understanding has grown since the 1st century lol. Time for a change.

It is just wishful thinking.... ohhh look at that, that is your name too. The idea of getting rid of religion has always been around and will always be around for those who choose not to choose a faith. What we need to do is teach everyone to be accepting of the faith of others and allow them to be.

Besides if we abolish religion then the working class would never get a holiday from work.

I really agree with that premise. I truly feel that organized religion does nothing but separate people even more - makes groups feel 'special and better' than everyone else and causes people to feel the need to either a) kill all those who are different or b) turn them all into exact copies of themselves.
It reminds me all too much of Hitler. People never learn anything from history. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother teaching history anymore!

I think the idea will, fortunately, continue to grow - thanks to all us open minded people who want to live in a world were everyone is considered equal and is treated that way. Thanks for asking this question!
