Having some chest congestion from constant post-nasal drip gone awry. I'd like to get my chest cleared out before it turns into me being officially 'sick'. Drinking lots of hot fluids & hot showers when I can--is there anything else I can do that doesn't require medicine? And, if I end up using an OTC medication, what's the best one to use to clear this up thoroughly & quickly? Thanks...

Mucinex. Take it with plenty of water to help thin the secretions to expectorate them easily. I take it everytime i get bronchitis.

Expectorants can cause both or have the extreme opposite. Depending on the child, how often its used (!!) and the age of children. I prefer going to the health food store and asking the herbalist/ nutritionist or employees to direct me to a similar product that my Pediatrician usually recommends. Sometimes, the products recommended by the herbal ist/nutritionist may already be in your home... I always like that! Blessings!
