it expires. Could I freeze the remainder? When my kids were infants I prepared their baby food and froze it in ice cube trays for portion control...could I do the same with the sauce? I don't want to keep wasting money, nor do I want to have marinara sauce 5 days in a row :)
If I can freeze it, how long will it be good in the freezer??

Sauces that come in a jar or can are high in sodium. This gives them a high shelf life even when not frozen. If you freeze it, it can 3-6 several months without losing much taste depending on the level of moisture in your freezer and how well you seal and vacuum the bag. It will last an extremely long time without actually going bad however. Your only concern should be taste loss.

Spaghetti sauce is one of the few things that holds it's flavor when frozen. I made a big batch of homemade spaghetti sauce, put it in small Tupperware containers and used on or two a month for a year. The last was as good as the first. But to answer your question, you'll use it before it goes bad.

Yes, I've put leftover spaghetti sauce in the freezer and it works quite well. I make spaghetti often enough that it's never spent more than a couple of months frozen; but, I guess I wouldn't leave it in the freezer much over 6 months.

YOU CAN FREEZE IT IF YOU LIKE. I MYSELF HAVE DONE THAT, AND WHAT I DONE WAS I HAD (opppssscaps) an extra ice cube tray, and put some in each slot and let them freeze, then place all the cubes in a zip lock bacg, then then wehn i needed just a small bit, i got out only the cubes i needed. great way to have on hand too, in case you need to spice up a dish !

Tomato sauce is high in acid and it won't spoil from bacterial contamination - you won't get ptomaine from it. Freezing in a plastic bag is a good idea as when it freezes and expands it could break the jar. I think they put a date on it because of flavor deterioration. I have that stuff stored for years and it never goes bad.

Yes, you can absolutely freeze it. It should keep up to 6 months this way. If you want smaller portions than what is remaining, divide it into containers appropriately, so you'll only have the portions you want to use and won't have to thaw the whole thing.

i freeze spaghetti sauce all the time. i make my own, usually, and make a lot at one time. i freeze portions of it to use whenever i decide to make spaghetti. i really don't know how long it could go. i usually use mine up within a month. i wouldn't keep it longer than a couple of months, like 3.

Yes freeze it by putting in a freezer container and don't leave it in the glass jar as it might break.

You can freeze it for no longer than 6 months. Make sure to get as much air out of the container as possible. If you have a foodsaver machine, that would be best.

Spaghetti sauce will stay good in the refrigerator for weeks. You don't have to eat it up within five days, and it will be handy for you when you don't have a lot of time to fix a meal.
