I used to lie to myself when I had a religious girlfriend. I went to church with her and all that. I tried to make myself believe, even tried to convince myself that maybe I did believe, but I never really did. After we broke up I pretty much instantly realized what I knew all along. I didn't believe. It just wasn't a thing I could make myself do. You can't force yourself to believe in something, it just does not work that way. I stopped going to church right away after that.
I've only been back to church a couple of times with my wife, who is religious also, only she knows and accepts that I am an atheist. I don't try to pretend.

Wow. Where to begin? No. Be truthful with yourself and admit there is no proof of the existence of a god.

If it makes you feel better, then there's no harm in it. Of course, once you've told yourself that you believe in God you've started down that slippery slope to actually believing in God, and you wouldn't want that now, would you?

I'm already convinced and have evidence. So yes, believing in God is the right thing to do. It's not effecting you in any way, is it? I guess misery loves company.

i do no longer in basic terms like the term "white lies". A lie is a lie and lies are continually black to God. He abhors a mendacity tongue. yet there is likewise attitude, and suggestions-set of the middle. a real lie is one the place the guy purposely deceives for his/her very own earnings or the destruction of others. you will locate those human beings in droves on eBay. they are using the postal companies nuts with all their coverage scams. united statesdid no longer honor my coverage declare because of the fact they are bored to death with all the scams. United Parcel service is transforming into that way now. So, what approximately telling human beings at an twist of destiny that each thing would be ok? What makes you think of that's no longer the certainty? in case you're praying for them, each thing would be ok. I stay contained in usa. whilst there is an twist of destiny, you haven't any longer any decrease than 30 human beings around you will cellular telephones all calling 911 on an identical time. there will be paramedics who gets on your wounds at as quickly as, and an ambulance which will take you to a sturdy wellbeing facility in mere minutes. i will, in sturdy judgment of right and incorrect, say that each thing would be ok. in certainty, it may be ridiculous to assert, "you have been in an twist of destiny, issues are poor! Boy, I particular desire you're making it, regardless of the undeniable fact that it would not look sturdy!" offering convenience in a stressful project is only common humanity. Now, say if somebody has a undesirable haircut and that they ask you techniques they look. people who ask that of me, understand me. My reaction is many times as follows, "are you able to sue for malpractice?" I then provide a extensive smile. they start to snigger because of the fact THEY understand its a undesirable haircut. Then I say, "hiya, according to probability it is an option factor--start up a trend." or "Your fortunate, you have hair that they are able to cut back to rubble." I then rub my folicly-challenged head. As for daddy and mommy yelling and Mommy is crying. This has happened to us. We only tell the youngsters that mommy and daddy are having a conflict of words over something, and that each thing would be wonderful as quickly as we get it out of our gadget. Watch, we can be loving and kissing on one yet another by using morning.

No because He would know you were lying. So what would be the point either you believe or you don't. Believing that's what faith means.
