Same reason why women flirt. So we can interact with the opposite sex in a fun and relaxed way. So we can get to know a woman more by talking to her that may generate and gage some interest in ourselves and others that could lead to dates, romance, sex, relationships, etc. All relationships start out with an innocent flirt. If we didn't flirt, how would we ever meet men or women?

Many reasons:
1. Trying to find a mate.
2. Some play in bed.
3. It's fun.
4. It's challenging.
5. You can compete with other guys.
6. You can build up a reputation and compare with others.
7. Test the waters to see if something is possible for the future
8. Set them apart from other guys walking down the street.

Even if they are involved, they do it to fel good about themselves. If the woman flirts back, it would mean he's still attractive. It's the same reason women flirt. It feels great when someone attractive finds you attractive, even if nothing will become of it. Second reason would be he flirts because he really wants you

LOL! We flirt to see if we still got it. And please don't buy into the whole men think about sex all the time crap. Males and females flirt equally. It is not something exclusive to men. And flirting is not always sexual in nature. I have even flirted with females I would not have sex with if they paid me. It is a game of words, and wits.

It is for the attention. We ALL want to feel wanted, desirable. Whenever we flirt, we are putting ourselves out there...saying "Hey, I like what I see..." Hopefully we get a favorable response, and that tells us that we are OK.
Then again, some of us flirt in an effort to get laid.
