I have had some chocolate in my cupboard since last xmas. As a man I can go a month or two without eating a single piece of chocolate. It is so sickly. (and fattening)

Chocolate isn't that fattening, only the really sickly milk chocolate stuff. Dark chocolate is really good for you, as it is full or antixodents and is low in sugar and fat.

I love chocolate, I don't know why, I guess I'm a chocoholic! Take care : )

Maybe you just don't like chocolate, i know plenty of men who love chocolate as much as me.

Some people prefer savoury things.

ME, I ADORE chocolate, i would climb a building using only my tongue for a bit of lily O'Brien sticky toffee chocolates. But then i hate crisps, and nuts don't get me excited either.

I guess i just have a sweet tooth. And yes, some times of the month you just want to sit in and drink hot tea and eat a lorryload of chocolate.

Chocolate, sex and exercise release endorphines into the brain making you feel happy... I guess women just react better to it. I could leave chocolate in my cupboard for a week, but for almost a year? Thats just nasty.

I am a woman and I love chocolate.
Chocolate and sweets release serotonin in the brain which gives a feeling of pleasure. It contains some ingredients that can be considered a 'drug' (like the caffeine), but in this case it's sugar. It makes us feel calmer, more relaxed, it is almost the same thing as being in love.

chocolate contains a certain hormone, that is comparable to endorphine - the hormon that causes feelings of happiness and satisfaction. a healthier way to have your own endorphine released in your body are sports or sex... me, i like chocolate, but only sometimes - yeah and like most women i do have a certain craving for anything sweet when im on my period

I don't have any thing about chocolate. My l.over, a male, however, can't live without it. He's got to have it every day. So what is this thing you men have about chocolate?

dark chocolates have antioxidants in them which are healthy for your heart. chocolate also has the same chemical in it that is released when you have an orgasm. i actually don't eat chocolate that often unless i'm on my period which i will eat anything that's sweet along with something salty. it just depends on the woman

You're obviously not eating the right kind of chocolate! Try dark chocolate-it's even heart healthy. And to answer your question about our "thing", it's called PMS!

chocolate contains stuff that affects the serotonin levels in the brain, thats one of the bodys feel good hormones and is also associated with the feeling of being in love! im not sure why women crave its affects more than men though.

I think it is just a stereotype built out of the fact that many women will crave sweet foods during "that time of the month". I know that I do, but other than that.......I'm not that into chocolate myself.
