MY definition? : Any group of individuals who conspire to and by their actions intend to cheat, steal, rob, murder, mame, defraud, or otherwise due unjust harm to any other individual or group of individuals for personal or collective gains.
If I expanded on this it would include too many groups to list here. Examples could be or include: Street gangs, Drug Traffickers, Government Officials, Members of Law enforcement, Religious Leaders and/or organizations, Military Leaders, Credit Card Companies, Bankers, Insurance Companies, Corporations, Big Business, Car Sales People, etc....etc.....etc.
It's all the same. Organized "crime". Some of those I just listed do it with a gun, others do it with the stroke of a pen.

In my experience, today's organized crime is not a bunch of street gangsters with guns, they are executives in corporations.
They manipulate their shell company activities under "inventory transfer methods", conceal the "sold to" addresses to avoid sales tax, and cover-up all this fraud with pay-offs to their conspiritors.
The pay-offs are then laundered again as a company write-off for more inventory. It's brilliant how they've managed to layer it and keep it hidden for over 10 years.
They are highly intelligent, wealthy, and well connected in the community. The multiple bank accounts and layers of accounting discrepancies are well hidden, as are the excess profits. The bank secrecy act preserves their privacy as they steal.
The police see this as a victimless crime. There are no bruises when I am threatened by his "associates". The fear and anxiety from being exposed to this fraud are intangible, therefore I am unharmed.
When, or IF the IRS ever exposes this calamity, I will certainly be dragged into an investigation to explain what I know. The exposure to this tainted money is frightening and I feel it will haunt me all the days of my life.
