There were 3 objects in the ark of the covenant. The ark represents our hearts. In the ark was the stone tablets with the 10 commandments written on them, that symbolizes that the law is written in our hearts. The second thing was a jar of manna, which represents that our spiritual food, the word, feeds our hearts and the third thing was Aaron's rod that budded. I haven't figured out what that represents yet.

Tough question to answer,
It is known that the Ten Commandments are in the Ark, so that is one item. It is believed that Moses' staff was also placed in the Ark when he died. The last item is usually up for debate. Some scholars say it was manna from Heaven, some say it was Aaron's staff that was placed into the Ark. One theory I had read even stated that Moses' body was placed into the Ark as it was a direct conduit to Heaven. I can't be certain about all three but I would say that the Ten Commandments and Moses' staff were definetly in there.

Hebrews 9:3 Behind the second curtain was a second section called the Most Holy Place, 4 having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron's staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
