I would not have any problem eating it as long as you see nothing and it smells normal.

In today's modern "refrigerated" times people have grown into this idea that unless it is cooked or/and refrigerated immediately that it is going bad.

Do you know you can safely stor milk at just at or below 50 degrees for some time (of course it wont last as long as colder milk).

That beef jerky so many like, it isn't cooked like most people consider cooked.
It is dehydrated. This requires long periods of time in which the meat is kept at a rather warm temperatures for upto (and over sometimes) 24 hours. This meat of course has been subjected to a cure (a combination of seasonings that have a high salt value, this helps to keep the meat good).

My point is to give examples of non-refrigeration.

Unless that soup was left open and the dog was eating from it there should not be anything wrong with it. We have had cooked meats left out over night which has been eaten later.

Of course anything can go bad in a short time, but you are most likely to see signs. The usual procedure is something like this,
If it looks ok and smells ok then heat it to boiling (or such) if after about a minute it still smells good then you are pretty safe. Bad foods will usually show a sign.

Just cause you buy it from the store doesn't mean it is safer... Many people are sick (some even die) each year from those "safe" store products. How many packaged meats have people purchased that turned out to be bad when opened? (I know we have a few times).

So be safe but don't be silly over this idea that a germ is sitting there waiting to kill you :)

I know it is wordy, sorry.

If the soup still smells good, you just have to boil it for 20 minutes before you put it in the fridge.

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which is employed for food.

The soup and crusty bread. Great on a damp, rainy day like today.

To be on the safe side, just toss it out and make another one

No you shouldn't have to chuck it out, it should be fine, It's just vegetables. My mother in law leaves her stock out of the fridge with meat inside to make gravy & we have it every sunday & we're fine!!

probably okay, but ...

you will only be sick for a half day. It might help with that diet.

broth is an excellent medium for bacteria.

most of the time that people think they have the flu it is food poisoning.

Get rid of it.

Anything that is made of organic material begins to decompose if not heated or refrigerated, and bacteria can grow very quickly.
