Any color is fine with black. Black is a unifying color it ties other color together. On the cieling black give a feeling of infinate hieght.

The only problem I can forsee with a black cieling is that it absorbs a lot of light. You will have to use more down lighting and less uplighting in the room.

I think pink would be good. A medium pink; not too light and definitely not to dark. It would make the room look small and your room does need some lightening effect to it. It would be great if you had some big windows in this room also. Maybe just a cascading swag in slate gray. Good luck!

Why not use white (or cream) and make it a very classy, elegant room. Sparse furnishings, modern things, would look very cool. Throw in accents of red or another bright color.

Hi! What is the rest of your house like? Are you keeping your rugs and furniture ... or not? If not, you have a whole lot of leeway. It sounds like fun. Peace.
