When I took my son to the local hospital because of a bad reaction to a bee sting, it was recommended by medical staff to keep Benadryl on hand. It is a safe and effective antihistamine and it is fast acting.

However, I'd have to agree with others that you should do your best to figure out what you are allergic to. If you are getting this kind of reaction, it is possible that your reaction could get more severe the more times you are exposed to your allergen. I have heard of people who started out with this kind of reaction and ended up with very severe reactions over time.

If you want to help your allergies more naturally, you can take larger doses of vitamin C. Studies are showing that vitamin C can help to work allergic reactions out of the body. When my son has an accidental exposure to gluten (his main allergy) I increase his vitamin C intake for a number of days. He's six years old and I'll give him on the order of 1000 to 1500 mgs of vitamin C each day. Adults are recommended by many alternative medicine professionals to take 3000 to 5000 mgs of vitamin C daily. You'll need to decide for yourself if this is something that you think would work for you. Not all people are comfortable with alternative medicine or taking control of their own healthcare.

If you are interested in more natural approaches, another alternative medicine treatment is a homeopathic remedy called BIO 83. It is a homeopathic remedy from a company called Tegor, that treats allergic reactions (and the allergy) homeopathically. In our experience, it can also help to reduce symptoms and even can be taken before exposure to an allergen to help reduce severity of any reaction.

Do keep in mind that I'm not a professional and I'm not diagnosing what you have; I'm sharing this from personal experience with allergies and from research into alternative methods of handling allergies. Take what works for you and leave the rest.

See a doctor. They can test you for it. It is a skin test.

Find out what is causing it.

Then avoid it.

Usually it is food, or some thing in the air.

There are certain anti-histamine drugs that are over the counter, keep it handy. Alive may be fine but it is for swelling only. If the attack is sever, you will need anti-histamine right away.

Swelling can close airways, and kill a person.

PS.

You wrote, 'normally tablet AVIL relives'. Is it an "anti-histamine" . I thought you meant Aliv (please confirm it on the package and read up on the Internet). For swelling you do not need anything, it will go away on its own but you need something for stopping the release of histamines, as time passes the reaction can be more violent, on the other hand, you can get immune on your own.

Whatever it is that is giving you that reaction should be avoided, if you keep exposing yourself to the same thing each reaction could get worse. I am not a doctor, but having had a similar reaction and not being able to pinpoint the cause until I had two more attacks, which were much more severe. I've been told that the next time could have lead to an Anaphalactic reaction. So don't mess around, get an allergy test and if you should have an epipen then get one!!

I've used Chlortripolon for most of reactions.

You have hives! If you get swelling of the lips or mouth it is an allergic reaction to something you ate. Be aware of what you consumed when this happened and avoid eating it. If you get the hives on your body its usually from something external. Only use dove soap, laundry detergent and fabric softner that is free and clear for sensitive skin. Don't use heavily perfumed lotions. I had hives for years. I took 2,000mg of L-lysine which kept them at bay but I finally did a detox and colon cleanse from www.dr.natura.com and have not had one outbreak of hives. And let me tell you, I got them bad! I no longer take the lysine, I only take Dr. Natura's fiber, floraprotect, and detoxigreens (which is their multivitiamin). If you get really frustrated you might want to give that a try. Good Luck!

By hyposensibilization, whereby an allergologist has to determine first which substance causing you to response hyperactive, that means to which you are allergic.

If the substance is determined, then the allergologist will prescribe you an injection which will be prepared individually for you in specified concentration. This will be administered in definite time intervals, at first at short time intervals at low dosis then the intervals will be longer and the dosis higher. This method is known to be the active method and an alternative to the passive method when this not help much, example by severe and chronic allergies.

ALLERGIES MAY LEAD TO SHOCK CONDITON, SO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
