Ragdolls are suppose to be calm, relaxed cats, and mine is unbearably annoying. And because it is a ragdoll i cant make it an outdoor cat. Its like having a newborn crying constantly. It breaks my heart to give him away. How do i quiet him down?

There is a reason your cat is constantly crying...bored, not neutered, lonely and even could be sick.
If your cat is not sterilized that is the problem. Please get him neutered for he will be healthier and happier...the only way to stop him from his constant crying.
If he is neutered then make sure he has plenty of toys and treats. Take time out to play with him several times a day. And if that doesn't work I would suggest getting him a playmate.

I have always believed it is better to have 2 than just one because when I am gone during the day they have a companion to keep them company and to play with.

Hi! First off, the good news is, there are lots of possible solutions to try before you have to really consider giving him up. Secondly, the bad news is, it sounds like you have a "talker".

I once lived in a studio with 2 cats, and one was a male who talked and mewed constantly. A lot of it had to do with the fact that he wanted something to do - he was really bored. There are videos you can get that are specially made for cats. Mine was a life saver! The cats stayed glued to the TV like kids watching cartoons. It had a variety of scenes, some with birds and others with squirrels, chipmunks, etc. that a cat might normally hunt. The one I had was called Video Catnip. I don't know if you can get that exact one, but there are probably others out there. The one caution: remove EVERYTHING from on or around the TV, since cats typically will try to bat at the creature on the screen and mine even tried to get into the box by going behind it! They got a little frustrated sometimes, but they still liked it. After a while he will realize they're not really there, and not be so interested. Just put the video aside for a while, and when you bring it out again, he'll be interested again.

Do you have a window where he could watch birds? There are small plastic birdfeeders you can attach to the outside of windows with suction cups. Those worked really well too. Larger pet stores may have the video, and hardware stores often have various sizes of birdfeeders.

The bad news is that even though he's neutered, he will sometimes act like he needs to go out and mate. He'll call and be restless for a while, but it will calm down. Play with him more, especially chasing games - those fake mice with the little rattling sounds drive them wild. You can get them almost anywhere, including a lot of supermarkets. I've found them online too. I don't know if I can say names of stores here, but the one I'm buying my cat's presents from begins with "P". Also, is there a chance he's a bit Siamese? They will talk your ear off, and there's not much you can do except agree with them and hope they take lots of naps. (Catnip can help too, but as with any mood changer in humans, you can do it all the time).

There is always a chance its a medical problem - is there a pattern to when he cries, like before or after eating, or using the litter box? If so, a call to the vet is a good idea.

The last thing I could suggest is a possible second cat to keep him company, but you've got plenty of time and options before you get to that, especially since two cats in a studio gets to feel a bit crowded (I did it). They were great, but there aren't enough windows, etc. to keep everybody happy all the time.

Good luck with him! He sounds like a sweetie, and he'd be perfect if he'd only give it a rest. My Nicky did finally calm down, but he was over a year old before it happened. Buy some ear plugs and hang in there!

Get some toys to keep your cat which is a kitten at this stage still preocupied, Have a catbed for him and always leave some cat food out in a small bowl. Show affection and when you have spare time play with him to wear him out a bit.
I suggest the catbed if you don't already have one so it is a place that he can relax - put a small teddy in there aswell i suggest this because he can feel safe in as he may be a bit stressed.
He may be hungry so that's why i suggest leaving the food out.
Toys of all shapes and kinds are great because your kitten can play endlessly and tire himself out.

You can also buy a cat leash, find a local park and take him for a walk, I know it sounds crazy but its great for cats who have to stay indoors.

Ohh and if you don't already do so Kitty Milk is a great treat for cats and i am sure he will be very content with all the spoiling he will recieve.

tape it's mouth shut.

Kidding,
i'm not sure if 6months is still considered a kitten, but if so
there is probably nothing you can do. Kittens, like puppies and babies, whine. It probably needs something.
