Definitely!! I usually managed to get through whatever situation it is I'm presented with, but it doesn't mean that I don't break out in a sweat and wish for a paper bag. Elevators are the worst for me and I'm currently living in Italy where it seems the normal size elevator is 2" x 2". I take the stairs even if it's 18 flrs, but there are a couple of places where you have no choice, but to take the elevator, so I usually hang around and wait for someone else to get in then I don't have to go by myself.

Don't ask me, ask a psychologist but I don't liked going into modern wardrobes either I much prefer those roomy old Victorian ones. Keep out of 'em though unless you want to end up in Narnia (joke)

Yes, people can be really good at hiding their fears. And then if it is milder it would be easier to hide the clausterphobia.
