Is this the norm for you? If it is something new for you you should sit down and evaluate your life. What has changed? What is making you anxious? If you cannot get to the bottom of it try a few counselling sessions.

Give problems like this no more than 2 weeks. If you are still down, with no apparent reason, find a therapist (counselor) to help you sort through this. There may be some underlying reason you are not aware of.
The therapist could help you identify the reason for your unhappiness and then give you some coping strategies or ways to reduce your stress or address the issues that are causing you stress or depression. The therapist could help you make a decision whether to see a psychiatrist for medication. Not all depression needs medication. sometimes cognitive therapy or just having someone neutral (uninvolved in your life) to talk to.
Even if you do need medication, it might just be for the short term, to reset your brain chemistry.
Good luck and hope you are on your way to feeling happy again soon!

If this has been going on for awhile, you might be suffering from depression and need a brief round of anti-depressants to get your body chemistry back where it should be. Talk to your doctor.

Otherwise, be sure to get enough sleep, get out in the sun, exercise, and eat right and you will snap back.
