Your case is a special one.
My guess is he is capable of love. Surely he has loved somebody in his 47 years of life? Like his mother or father?
If you think he will react adversely to you professing your love, how about, first say something like, you think you might be falling in love with him, and see whether his reaction is positive.
All the best!

When you know for sure and when it feels right. Don't try to set up a perfect situation. To be honest, I fell in love for the first time (and only time!) with this man very fast but I felt it was a little premature to be telling him. I told him after about 4 months and we're still seeing eachother and things are still great. You'll know.

just sit down and talk to him let him know how well you think the relationship is going and how he makes you feel and how happy you are and then let him know that you know that he's never been in love before and neither have you (if you haven't) and tell him that you think you have fallen in love with him. Being scared is natual. i was scared to tell my boyfriend but he actually told me first and neither one of us has been in love before he's 30 and i'm 26 and our realtionship has gotten better since we told each other how we felt. so just tell him and he might respond back the same way.

Difficult one. People assume that when you tell them you love them that you are looking for a similar reply. But its not always the case. I explained to my 'lover' that I felt it,needed to tell him, and needed him to acknowledge it (with an 'I know). Once that happens, the relationship gets a whole lot deeper - whether he loves you or not. I haven't regretted it and would do it again.
Good luck!

You won't like this but - if you're that worried about how he might react to ANYTHING you say it's not my idea of love - love involves (amongst many other things) the ability to share all your feelings, and you clearly can't do that with this man - and that says more about YOu than it does about HIM.

He's probably been hurt before and just scared to love.. I would just let him know that he is a great guy and you don't want him to ever leave... Tell him you love him later, give it a little more time... Be patient.. Good things come to those who wait.. Remember that...Let things fall into place and don't rush it!!! Good luck!

Tricky. People vary, but most like being told they are loved from time to time. Perhaps go for a walk together and at the 'right' time just tell him and kiss him on his cheek......good luck...

just tell him you love him and you care for him.. tell him that if loving him is not a good idea and if he is not capable of it, you can always be friends
and if he will find it hard to be with you just because of the things that you said.. tell him that you'll keep distance, for him to have space and do some thinking.
you can tell by his reaction if he cares for you and if the feelings is mutual

you never tell a man you love him unless you mean it and he has told you the same and meant it. a few women have told me they loved me after spending the night with me, but i tell them "no ya dont" while i'm walking out of the hotel bedroom never to be seen again. a man can see "i love you" as a gulit trip instigated by the woman to make the man stay. stay in the relationship and be happy, dont ruin it by putting thoughts in each others heads
