Never heard of using tea to do that I have used hydrogen peroxide but dont know about using on a baby, but some carefully warmed baby oil (make sure not too hot) a few drops in each ear might make baby more comfortable. It will not get rid of a infection tho".

once you have an ear an infection, take a clean onion, cut back it in 0.5, microwave it until it steams, then wrap it in a towel, tilt your head so the contaminated ear is up, then positioned the steaming onion over the ear. it quite is meant to entice out the an infection. sounds humorous even even though it works! as a toddler i had sooo many ear infections and that often fixed it!

Hydrogen Peroxide - Pour in ear then dump out of ear
This has worked for me many times. My only concern here is its a baby. You might want to ask your doctor about using H202.

GET A SECON OPINION OR TELL YOUR DOCTOR THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO TRY POURING SOME TEA IN TO YOUR BABY'S EAR.. ASK HER WHAT EVER HAPPEND TO AMOXIXILIN IS A ANTIBIOTIC TAKE YOUR BABY TO ANOTHER DOCTOR... MY SON HAD AN BACTERIA EATING HIS EAR INSIDE AND BECAUSE THE DOCTOR TOOK SO LONG GIVING HIM TUBES.. MY SON WENT COMPLEATLY DEAF AND HE WAS SO YOUNG IT TOOK A WHILE TO NOTICE NOW HE IS BEHIND ON HIS MOTOR SKILLS..IT GOT SO BAD THAT THE INFECTION WENT TO THE BACK OF HIS LITTLE BRAIN AND HE LOST ALL BALANCE COULD NOT EVEN WALK OR SIT OR NOTHING.. AFTER ANOTHER DOCTOR INSERT THE TUBES IN HIS EAR AND GAVE HIM THE RIGH ANTIBIOTIC HE GOT BETTER AND HE EVEN GOT HIS HEARING BACK BUT HE REMAINS WITH A SPEECH PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THAT... MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO TAKE YOUR CHILD TO ANOTHER DOCTOR OR EMERGENCY ROOM.. THAT TEA ADVICE FROM THE DOCTOR YOUR SEEING JUST DOESNT RING A BELL FOR ME.. GOOD LUCK.

I've been a mother for over 30 years and I've never heard that before. Have you tried warm Sweet Oil? Or peroxide? Both have helped me greatly over the years..

i have never heard this before. i imaging that it would be like being underwater without ear plugs, and if you know anything about boiling tea, you would know that it is still piping hot after 10 minutes.

I don't know your Dr., but if it is a baby the Dr. should of checked it out, and gave your baby antibiotic. With out seeing your Dr. they shouldn't tell you anything like that when it comes to a baby. If anything they should of told you to bring your baby in. I think I would find another Dr.

This might seem strange to you but my Grandmother was a folk healer and when we had ear infections she would put a few drops of our own urine in the ear. Something about the enzymes and it being your body temperature... all I know is it worked.
