There seems something amiss with Elton's image. Whilst school children and airline staff are being harassed by authorities if they ware crosses, Elton John who doesn't give a monkey about God's word prances about sporting a cross and flaunting a husband at the same time? Maybe Australian politics are right!
Is Elton taking the p!£$ or what?

Morgage girl has a great point:
"Matters not whether Elton takes it or gives it, no sin is greater than the rest...all sin is sin"

You're right Spidoing, love the music, shudder at the life style. Elton has no revelation of God's love, and we're the ones that need to show it first.

Anyone can wear a cross. I have seen many non religious people wearing them. It is simply a piece of jewelry to some. I wear mine out of reverence....you have to know where you came from in order to accurately map out where you intend to go. Sin is not limited to the homosexuals. ALL are sinners and therefor none of us should be pointing out the iniquities of a fellow sinner. Nor should we judge homosexual behavior since that job has already been filled by an applicant with far superior skills than I, a simple human.

Australia's policies are homophobic due to the blatently homophobic John Howard.
I do not believe for a minute that people should be prevented from wearing the cross, they should have the same right to display their belief in christianity as others can display their belief in other religions.
However, saying that Elton John is flaunting his husband, what is wrong with that? Presumably he is very proud of his partner as most newly wed people are, straight or gay.
Although I agree with the first part of your statement (though not the headlining question), I am not clear from the rest if you are upset about the visibility of gay people, that same-sex couples finally having their relationships recognised by the UK, or non-christian people wearing symbols of christianity.
Keep your religion and stand up for the rights of christians for sure, but why the need to be homophobic at the same time?

Elton John hasn't been in the press this much since he was making relevant music in the mid-70s. He's just taken a page from Madonna's book of "Any Publicity Is Good Publicity".

In my opinion (and god's according to his bible) wearing a idolistic cross is a sin just like being a homosexual. But I must add that the bible states that some sins are worse than others, some are forgiveable and some are not. It teaches that some can lead to death and some do not. They're all wrong, but some are more severe. I don't know what god detest more worshipping an idol or homosexuality, both crimes have brought about the most severe punishments in the scriptures, whole multitudes have been slaughtered for these offenses.

Sorry mortageg, but not all sins are the same! But if people want to buy fat boy's music, that's up to them. Let's home Watford go down, something no doubt Elton is familiar with.

the Christians take the p!£$ with the cross
so why cant Elton....
Lets face it, if Jesus was real and did return do you really think the instrument of his agonising death is what he wants to see ......
I doubt it!
being Gay is only a sin because godbotherers are sad homophobes anyway.
Prejudice is a sin too......

I like Elton and his music but you make a good point about him brandishing a cross and a husband. Perhaps this is an example of how we make God in OUR image. He has his own 'spirituality' which he has proably invented as a lot of people in sin do, as a way of making thier lifestyle acceptable. This is not limited to homosexuals, but in the end everyone must believe in the Lord Jesus to be saved, gay or straight, black or white.

Marriages in a religious sense should be between men and women. If the law allows same sex partnersips then it should be called something else.
I really don't understand how some christians think that being "Gay" is OK.
Genesis 13:12-13 (New International Version)
12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom.
13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.
Genesis 19:5-8
5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them." 6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, "No, my friends. Don't do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."
Quran Chapter 7:
80 And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?
81 Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk.
82 And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure.
83 And We rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind.
