Now, Chrstians say Adam, because he sinned was punished by God by being banished to earth with Eve, & would now experience death. As would all sinners. The case being if you sinned, you die. So, if Jesus died for all mankinds sins, then how come nobody lives forever?

so does that mean the people who died BEFORE Jesus (Good people, like the prophets etc) don't get eternal life? Or forgiveness for that matter since they didn't belive in Jesus dying for their sins?

ritsy g- your conculsion baffles me it is so illogical! Of course I belive in teh day of judgement & resurrection. It is part of my beliefs as a muslim. BUT, we belive that we will be judged for our belief in God (not Jesus being God or His son) & our good & bad deeds.

MrSucessf... - you were just rude. Mohammad (PBUH) is a prohet, just like Jesus (PBUH), NOT God (just like Jesus isn't). So your comment about him "creating" is wrong. Second, a Muslim woman can go & swim at a ladies health club, or a Women's beach as they Do exist in Muslim countries. There she can wear whatever she likes, without being ogled by leering louts!

Damien -You said: "Even God had to pay for sin by the death of His only son, which was no ordinary death - no man or woman on earth every had that death - he died for the world everybody who died already died for themself. "
Why do you feel the need to humanize God? Why did EVEN God have to pay? Isn't He the Almighty. the Creator of everything? Why do you put human traits & limitations on Him?

The problem with Muslims is that you hold to the word of one prophet and ignore the rest. Great prophets in the Old Testament prophesied many times of the coming King and how He would suffer to heal His people. I judge a prophet by his message. That message has to be consistent with all the previous messages from God. Mohammad's message is out of sync. It doesn't teach that blood must be shed to gain forgiveness of sin as both the Old and the New Testaments do. You deny Christ's position. Out of His own mouth He claimed to be the I AM God that spoke to Moses from the burning bush. Adam and Eve Died the day they sinned. They lost the presence of God in their lives and physical death followed. Now God is restored in the Lives of the Christian Gos walk with us in our daily walk before Him. We are alive Spiritually again. We still carry with us the body of sin that is subject to physical death. When it is gone our spirits go to the Father who created them and so we are ever with the Lord. I don't know as you can understand the two deaths physical and spiritual because I don't know your teaching that well. All I need to know about Islam is that you deny that Jesus is God. That tells me that your religion is closer to a cult than it is to God... Jim

Great questions! I believe what the inspired scriptures teach. The earth was created for mankind and it was a paradise, mankind was not banished to the Earth, it was just no longer such a paradise. Perfect mankind failed to obey its creator so there was punishment. Its not fair that 2 people ruined our fate for eternity so our divine father gave us a chance for redemption, another perfect man who would obey his creator and recompsense what the others lost. All of this according to his own law of 'a life for a life'. So when we die, we're dead. At an appointed time the dead will be ressurected (there would be no ressurection if we were alive as spirits) and those who did not have a chance to choose for themselves who they would serve will have an opportunity to do so while satan is bound, this is the thousand years period. Others who had a chance to choose during their lifetime will be judged according to their deeds. Those who accept the sovereignty of our creator will live for an eternity in our paradise home on Earth, with the exception of an 'elect' few that will rule from heaven over the meek here on Earth. Those who coose not to subject themselves to our father will be destroyed forever along with the rebel angels, they will never exist again in any life form, physical or spiritual. Their wages of their sins is death, destruction. Basically, we have been on a detour since Eve was tempted, but eventually we will get back on the same path with the same destination as was originally intended. A perfect world with perfect people with a divine government.
By the way, I don't believe the lie that Jesus was the true god. this is impossible in many ways. The scriptures do not teach this.

All those who died before Christ are saved by faith, by the custom of sacrificing a lamb they looked forward to the promise of the coming Lamb Jesus Christ - Hebrews 11. All those who are faithful will gain eternal life when Jesus comes again to receive us.
Because of sin, we are witnesses of the reality of sin and what it does. That is why God had to die to redeem us and he will come again and save us and rid the universe of sin, sinners and the devil Satan forever.
Before there was sin, no one knew really what it was it was just a bad thing. But sooner or later it would arise and Lucifer initiated it and therefore in God's infinite wisdom sin is allowed to be played out so that the character of God will be seen and that all the warning before was warranted.
Sin will never again rare its ugly head because God will not allow it again and we wont either because we see what it causes.
Even God had to pay for sin by the death of His only son, which was no ordinary death - no man or woman on earth every had that death - he died for the world everybody who died already died for themself.

Jehovah God created the first human pair, perfect. They were designed to live forever.God placed them in a beautiful garden paradise and told them to multiply and fill the earth. This was God's plan for mankind - to have eternal life on a paradise earth. However, when Satan tricked Adam and Eve into disobeying God and thereby rebelling against His Sovereignty, they lost their perfect state and because of the sin, they now started to age and eventually die.As offspring of Adam and Eve,we all inherit imperfection and sin. Therefore we all age,get sick and eventually die. This however, was not God's plan for man.He created the earth for man to live on and in God's due time he will by means of his great war of Armageddon destroy all wickedness and those obedient righteous ones left will again have the wonderful opportunity to experience what Adam had lost for all mankind.Even the dead will be resurrected and given an opportunity to serve Jehovah God.
The Bible does not teach that all good people go to heaven. The Bible clearly shows at Rev.14:1-4 that only 144,000 faithful men and women will go to heaven to rule as kings and priests with Christ Jesus over the earth. The rest of obedient mankind will as I already have said ,will reside on the earth.
Jesus came to earth and offered his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice in order to buy back for mankind what Adam(also a perfect man)had lost. And that was the gift of everlasting life. All those who exercise faith in Jesus' ransom will have the opportunity to live forever. But first God's war of Armageddon must be fought.

Jesus died for us to be forgiven for our sins not that no one should die. As you read God's word it tells us that no word cometh from the mouth of the Lord will go back to Him without accomplishing its mission. These means what God has said should be . For Jesus to die on a cross is our link to be reached by God's mercy so that when we die,we die to live to the eternity( that is if u believe in in life after death).
And again for u to meet God, u'll have to pass through the grave so that u leave ur sinful body and meet God in Spirit bcos God is the Holy Spirit; that's why Jesus had to die so that He could go and sit next to Him to be our lawyer whenever we sin and ask for forgiveness.
So really there's nothing wrong with death,is just a short cut to meet our Creator.
So stop wondering why bcos even if u do,it won't change God's mind. Even God Himself is bound by His word that's why He cannot just leave us to parish even if continue to disappoint Him; He gives each one of us a chance to repend and the rest is on our hands whether to go for it or die the last death!!
God answer your questions & b in control.
God bless u!!

I will attempt to answer all your questions. Let me know what you think...Jeff
So Jesus died for the sins of mankind? (YES)
Now, Chrstians say Adam, because he sinned was punished by God by being banished to earth with Eve, & would now experience death. (Not quite true...the Bible says Adam was placed on earth to be with God and it was very good!!! It was like heaven! ...but then came his sin and he would no longer be able to live in the garden and eat from the tree of life. He would eventually die)
As would all sinners. The case being if you sinned, you die. So, if Jesus died for all mankinds sins, then how come nobody lives forever? (The Bible says we are all born as sinners and therefore we sin. As sinners we will all die. Jesus death did not take away our sins yet. Jesus is coming back one day to Judge the whole world. All who believe Jesus is Lord will have their sins covered because He paid the penalty of their sins. However everyone else will have to pay the penalty for their sins themselves.)

Oh, as far as living forever in Heaven....yes, but surely the torment of Hell is forever too? (Correct) In which case whether you believe or not, you still lvie forever in that sense? (Correct, therefore God is talking about a different kind of death. 1. Death on earth to all who sinned 2. Seperation from God after this life on earth)

so does that mean the people who died BEFORE Jesus Good people, like the prophets etc. don't get eternal life? (No, they were saved if they put their trust in God...The Bible calls it faith)
Or forgiveness for that matter since they didn't belive in Jesus dying for their sins? (The did believe in Jesus they just did not know His name. They knew of the coming Messiah or Savior)

Damien -You said: "Even God had to pay for sin by the death of His only son, which was no ordinary death - no man or woman on earth every had that death - he died for the world everybody who died already died for themself. "
Why do you feel the need to humanize God? (We don't need to humanize God. However, we do need to recognize that Jesus is different than all others. Jesus is God)
Why did EVEN God have to pay? (He did not have to pay but wanted to do it to save us)
Isn't He the Almighty. the Creator of everything? (Yes)
Why do you put human traits & limitations on Him? (There is no human limitations for God. He did not have to save us. No one was making him do it but He loved us so much He was willing to sacrifice His Son. He said His desire is that all people repent of their sin and put their trust in Jesus as Lord.)

Jesus did die for the sins of all mankind but that does not mean we can close the jails. People will continue to sin on earth. The new kingdom after Jesus judges us for what we have done will have no sin.
God has allowed us to freely choose or reject him. Many people reject him and therefore will never receive forgiveness of their sin. They will continue to commit many sins all their life.

The word in Hebrew for man is Adam, so it's not a name but a classification. So MANKIND is cursed, not an individual. Now if Jesus died for YOUR sin, you would be personally saved, right? But your body as a part of MANKIND would still be part of the curse, not your personal essence (the soul). So there is still death of the body, but not of the soul.

My dear friend, would living on earth be the greatest gift for you? It wouldnt be for me!
Jesus was talking about eternal life in heaven - a wonderful wonderful place. If you do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you will face death which is hell, for eternity.
