This is a home remedy my family has used.......chamomile tea...wet cotton balls in warm chamomile tea and clean your eye....
You might also consider seeing a Doctor, you could have an infection ( conjunctivitis )

Cknut is on the right track...although I wouldn't "flush" your eyes with it. Baby shampoo still stings a little. Use it with warm water to wash your eyelashes at least once a day. If you don't keep them clean, you can develop a stye!
(my family also has issues with crusty eyes)

you have to be careful with crusty eyes, if it builds up overnight to the point where its seals you eye shut it could be an indication of pink. as for general purpose eye crusty i don't know of any remedies

try using a warm ( not too hot) wash cloth and rub it over the eyes gently.

Make sure you wash your face every morning. If it still exists, go to the doctor.

if your are near a beach, take a beach bath everyday until the crust in your eyes are gone.
