Not always--depends on what dye you use.
The most damaging is hair bleach, followed by permanent hair color, then demi-permanent (up to 24 shampoos). After that, the damage that is caused is pretty much non-existent.
What causes damage to the hair is the amount of ammonia or peroxide in the product you're using. These open up the hair shaft, strip it of its color and deposit a new color into your hair (hence permanent or demi-permanent)
Semi-permanent color or temporary color simply deposits color on top of the hair shaft (it doesn't penetrate) and therefore causes basically zero damage. In fact, some of the products are loaded with emoillients and conditioners, so they can acutally be beneficial to your hair.

Depends on the type of dye and how often they are used. If using a permanent dye (generally boxed kind where you mix two parts together to form dye) them they are a lot kinder to hair than they used to be so long as you dont dye week after week after week etc - the more chemical processes you use on your hair the more it can be damaged.
If using something temp like vegetable dyes these actually condition your hair rather then damage it.

Yes, if you abuse using it (like bleaching on top of bleach and as often as every day or every other day) but if you use it once in a month the answer is no.

yes it is but not that bad ,but that doesn't mean u don't have to color your hair ,u still can but u should really take a good care of it especially by using sunsilk shampoo . hope that'll help

hair color is not bad for your hair its the bleach that causes you problems try not to go down that road and your hair will be fine
