Healthy hair never looks like you stuck your fingers in an electrical socket, so to answer your question--yes, this woman's hair is damaged.

There's a number of reasons why it may have gotten this way--chemical treatments, poor diet, overstyling, overuse of heat, sun/polution/general environment issues--all contribute to damaged hair.

It sounds like she needs a lot of protein to build back the strength of her hair from all of the bottle blonding! She probably isn't using a protectant in hair hair whilst Str8tening either! If the hair is really dry she definitely needs moisture. I would suggest to her to check out the "Paul Mitchell" brand as it really does what it says. There is a product in that brand for any hair problem that she might have. And if were you I would give the Paul Mitchell super skinny serum a try if you love a soft silky feeling for your own hair.

anythin hot on your hair can damage it. I used dtraighteners for a long period of time, and noticed my hair was looking damamged, but there are some products you can use now to protect it. It could be just how her hair is though...some people have hair like a brillo pad, and have done since they were born !! thats just unlucky i guess
