you really made me think seriously about this question - thankyou.
heres what i think:
if your in a relationship, its the best feeling in the world. knowing you have someone to call your own. its a fantastic feeling. but, you often wonder what it could be like to be single again. to be able to go out and flirt wildly with cute guys. to not just have the one guy. but many i would say!!
if your single. it can suck. it can suck because you dont have that special someone that likes you so much that theres butterflies in everyones stomach! you want a relationship. that feeling over lust turning into love. the feeling of having affection from someone. but on the other hand, the single life can be fantastic. the fact that you can spend as much time as you want with your girlfriends, and not have to arrange time to spend with your boyfriend. the fact that you can do the whole flirting thing, and not have your boyfriend complain to you .. because you dont have one!
i think that everyones opinion is different, whether they are in a relationship or single.
im single at the moment, and practially craving a relationship! but once im in a relationship, the novelty wears off! but i will know i have that one person in my life that can make me feel whole =]

relationship is better, lots of drama for sure,but being alone gets old eventually.
here are the plusses,
someone to help take care of the pets,pay bills,to tell your deepest feelings too then have wild sex. And most of all you can be yourself and not always on your best behavior.

hmmm it really depends on the person,y'know. for me, i prefer having a relationship =) it feels good to have someone that you truly love, instead of being alone...
