absolutely. I have a 14.4 V drill and it's enough to do anything I need and I've used it for 4 years now. My father-in-law does remodeling for a living and he uses ryobi stuff too.

I've had Ryobi tools for 6 years now. I use them almost daily and have one battery still working out of three. The others lasted 5 years. The dewalt batteries use 2200 mAH cells and the Ryobi uses 2000 mAH cells so the dewalt gets a longer run time but at $70+ a battery. If you take care of your tools they will last no matter what brand they are. I know people that have to buy a new dewalt every year because they abuse the tools.

The Ryobi brand is OK for the occassional DIY-er. Actually it's a little better than Craftsman or Black & Decker. I prefer Dewalt but if you buy Ryobi, just go for the 18volt models vs the 14s or 12s. You'll be happier in the long run.

Hey I bought a set of Hyundai tools with a 5 year warrantee from Pep Boys. There great. Ryobi should be at least as good as that.

If you are going to use it occasionally, then buy it. Ryobi makes Craftsman. However I think it is junky like Black and Decker and Dewalt. My philosophy is if you buy something right the first time, y ou will not have to buy again. Spend some money and buy Bosch.
