Because much of the western world hates Jews and much of the western world is or was Christian, but don't worry Muslims are coming up in a close second and maybe the second Holocaust will be America's fundamentalist Christians (George Bush and his minions) versus the Muslims.

When there is anomie in a society, and when there exists the rapid deterioration of common-held group meanings that no longer re-enforce the collective meaning of the group or the group-held identity, new norms and values have to be forged to 'realign' the group, to bolster its solidarity, to re-assert a meaning that can be held by the group. Politics, economics and social issues usually conflate a number of deeper, more significant problems, but because these issues often act as determinants for what is deemed 'significant' for a group - religion, as an institution of authority in a society may at times act in tandem with newly emerging meanings.
In Germany, the broad mass of a nation fell victim to a terrible lie; the question wasn't about 'evening the score' with the 'brutal killers of Jesus' who incidently were the Romans; it was about re-asserting the grandeur of the "fatherland" and solidifying Germanic dominance in the land, after suffering a near economic crash and skirting on the fringes of political disarray.
If Half the Christians you know have made anti-Jewish comments, then its a function of the ignorance, bigotry and hatred that has been perpetuated by ignorant and hateful biggots. Its just that simple.

I am not sure what comments you mean or the connection between your question and the breakdown of religions in Germany....
But if you are hinting that the Nazi movement was fueled by the christians in Germany, then I would simply say there are wolves in sheep's clothing everywhere. always have been, always will be. But many in the churches in Germany did not agree and resisted the Nazi rule.
But assuming that some did promote or at least did nothing to stop Nazism, this does not diminish the person or work of Jesus Christ. It only emphasizes our great need of a Savior and our need to follow His teachings....
God bless!!

America claims to be 85% christian but less than half of those attend services or even pray. Ignorance and family, friend, stereotypes are clouding their thoughts. People are people. there are good and bad from every race religion creed....Ask them why they have these thoughts and use logic to evaluate their responses. I assume you don't want the anti-Semitic comments. To condemn any group on a whole is wrong

Christ is the model of Christianity did Christ preach killing and hatred, NO!
Hitler was an idealist obsessed with his ideal of a perfect German race called the Uber man, he was also influenced by the teaching of F. Nietche altough Nietche was against anti-semiticism.

It's the same as why most people i know hate Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie.
It all voices down to each and every individual's rights n beliefs.
We shouldnt blame this on religion.

Someone who is sure of himself
does not talk all the time.
People who stay calm
have real insight.
After all, even a fool
may be thought wise
and intelligent
if he stays quiet
and keeps his mouth shut.

If that is true that is messed up.
But also do not confuse anti-Judiasm with anti-Jewish! They are very different things. The Gospel of Jesus is not anti-Jew but Pro-Jew!!
