I want my computer to automatically run scans and/or updates at night while I'm sleeping. I already set up the scheduled tasks part of my computer.

To keep your computer from shutting off at night , right click on desktop, click on properties, click on screen saver, then click on power button (lower right), and go down list and click never on your hard disk and your system will not shut down. and the same for your monitor, system standby ect.

You will see when puter starts up the shortcut to open set up utility usually like f8 or f2 or f11,hit that before windows screen shows go into setup and you will see config for auto sleep turn it off save settings and your good to go

start, control panel, power options, choose never on turn off hard disks, system standby and system hibernates.click on apply and restart your pc. thats it.
