things.The Bible is about Jesus Christ. Consider the following:

Jesus Christ only lived 33 years, never went more than 30 miles from his home, never wrote a book, never was on tv, never made a cd or any multimedia source and YET

-- Jesus Christ has influenced the world more than any person;

-- Jesus Christ's existence separates history (ac or bc);

-- Jesus Christ has more books written about him than any person in history;

-- Jesus Christ is the Ruler of the largest religion in the world;

-- Jesus Christ had 11 apostles and numerous martyrs die excruciating deaths believing in the Messiah, the Son of God;

-- Jesus Christ as the promised messiah fulfilled over 300 prophesies in the Old Testament. Just fulfilling 50 makes the odds of doing so 10X135 power, an astronomical number. No human being or religious leader's existence was fortold with such clarity, never fulfilled so many prophesies about them, not even Moses, Muhammad (pbuh), Buddha, Confuscious or anyone!

In short, Jesus Christ has accomplished things NO OTHER HUMAN BEING HAS DONE in the entire history of mankind. If anyone thinks Jesus Christ is JUST A GOOD TEACHER they are very unrealistic by making such a huge understatement.

First, this is a GOOD queston.

It is amazing the influence Jesus has had on the world. It is Christmas season now which would be nothing if Jesus had not come. People in every country on earth will be opening Christmas presents in the next couple weeks because God sent His Son as the best gift of all time.

Jesus is much more than a good teacher. Much greater than any prophet. He is the only one who has ever claimed to be the way to God that could back up His claims.

Poor Jesus was abused by God. Have you ever read in the bible where God spent quality time with his son doing the things that Fathers and Sons are supposed to do? His father let him die on a cross to prove a point. God didn't realize that the sacrificing of his son accomplished little when you consider that the majority of people on this planet choose not to be Christian. Jesus would have accomplished more for Christianity if his father (who is almighty) had given him immortality. He would still be alive today performing miracles, What present day religion could compete with that ?

Dude, I don't know where to start with that one. Hitler influenced the world more than Jesus; the ideas Jesus borrowed or that the authors of the bible put in his mouth were nothing new and the good ones were just plain common sense.

You are pointing to the overwhelming size and chronological extent of your religion's delusional beliefs and claiming them as evidence for your religion! Listen to yourself!

Christ, look at that 5th one... 11 martyrs? Look, 11 martyrs explode every month for Allah and the message that Mohammed brought. So is that religion true, too?

And I'm not going to address that drivel about "fulfilling prophecies" until you provide an example of one.

just remember the commandment!
Do not take the Lords name in vain. Many people are guilty of this even in their prayers....

But consider that the bible does not contain all the words of Jesus christ. The book of mormon contains Many many pages about Jesus christ, too.
And when i read it for the first time, the spirit of God filled my heart with glory. at least thats what i believed when it happened! and accompanying the witness of my spirit and the presense of power, there was also a great Lightning storm. all around the city i lived in. Was it coincidence? or was it testimony?
further years of study and prayer proved to me that Most of LDS canon holds up to the test of revelation! only a few things seem to be untrue. but minor things are they. and of course after years of crying with tears in my prayers, the words of the BoM showed me much more than the bible ever gave me. Hidden Diamonds and Gems of God working through men of faith.

But Most importantly, remember what Jesus said about receiving the servants of God whom he sends! If you reject them, you reject him.

I think there is something to it, but I'm not sure what it is. One day I started to cry and I knew the spirit of Christ had entered me, but was it supernatural? I don't know, I don't care. How come he gets to do all these things and I can't, like walk on water and touch cripples and heal them. God likes him more than me I guess, I don't like Gods that take favorites. So I won't believe he could do all that stuff like Superman. And if he did like Jesus more than me, then forget God, don't need him, my dad will be my God. You guys are all nuts.

but prove to me that the bible is fact, not fiction.

how do you know he did those things?

its tru he has a conciderable following, but does that make him a prophet, does that make him really the son of god? and as far a fulfilling prophesies, if they are written by people after you died, are the really prophecies?

Right now you have a choice, and that choice is yours and noone else's. religions and cults bring fear and conformism that's why people are confused as to what to believe in. we as human beings unfortunately, have an innate need to praise a god that we have never seen and yet we still know there is something out there that controls our existence....dont believe me?.....ask our ancestors the Egiptians, Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas, why did they spend hundreds of years and manpower building those huge pyramids standing in time??? they felt the connection with a divine power up in the sky.
Unfortunately human beings throughout history have corrupted the divine with the mundane, and have killed and conquered in the name of god for centuries.
Religion and Laws are not appealing because we are weak and not able to be ruled by them. Religions and Laws have failed us because they do not redeem anyone. They only judge, restrict, and punish for our mistakes, they expect us to be sanctify by their own rulings, rules made by mortal sinners like us, that sooner or later failed on their own terms and yet are so hypocritical to redeemed themselves so not to lose their authority.
All that hypocrisy stopped when Jesus walk on earth, why??? Jesus never came here to impose a church or laws, because he knew that we were weak to follow the rules imposed to us, and created a new pact between men and the divine.
He asked only one thing from a believer, he ask you to beleive that He is the son of God, and that without him nobody has redemption.

He ask from you just one thing, for you to accept the fact that He died in the cross to redeemed all your sins with his blood, then only then you can be free from the hypocrisies of this world.

If you choose to believe or not to, is by your own redemption, but not because it is imposed by church leaders or religious hypocrites because Jesus is not a religious slogan so that greedy rich evangelists or healers attract more crowds....

Jesus was never about the fame or the popularity,
Jesus was more about teaching people about the love that we need to give in this world in order to make us better people.

He said " I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody comes to the divine but through me "

Nobody can assure you of these, because nobody other than Jesus has died and resurrected from death. I can not convince you of these because otherwise I will be manipulating your mind as all those religious freaks do all the time. but the believe comes from you alone, is your choice and nobody else's!!!

John 3:16-19 gives the one and only message that Jesus brought to this earth and he was killed for telling this truth:

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that does not believes is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

What was it that Jesus wanted so badly from people that he was willing to die for you and me, in spite of his suffering?

Romans 8:9 gives you the answer:

9. That if you shall confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, then and only then you shall be saved.

not strings attached.....that's all there is to it....believe it or not?

no religion.....just one simple confession of faith that He is who he said he is!!!

Amen brother!

I must also note that those who don't believe in Jesus curse his name, yet I don't hear anyone saying "BUDDHA" or "Mohummad" when they stub their toe...

Lets not forget CHRISTmas.
