It is a real problem where I work. These 17 year old female students just won't quit following me around licking and sucking on them. I am 23 and have just finished Uni, this is my first job teaching PE and these girls keep following me around licking and simulating acts on bananas. I can't ban bananas obviously and its too stupid to put them in detention for it. What other punishments should I give? How do I handle this appropriately?

Mat, I really feel for you. There's such a narrow age gap between you and your students and children (for that's what they are really) are sexualised at such an early age these days.
I went into teaching at 31 and found it hard when 17/18 year olds started hitting on me.
I was sort of flattered, but I considered them to be children and the only difficulty for me was how to deal with their comments without crushing them.
I made sure other members of staff knew what was happening, because I didn't want accusations to be made later and believe me, teenagers go through all sorts of weird stages.
The funniest incident for me, was when a boy of 16 asked me if I fancied him.
I said I'm sure I would if I were a girl, but I was a grown up married woman twice his age.
He responded by saying I should grab at the chance whilst he was in his prime.
I just softly laughed and said "your'e a cheeky Casanova, I like you, but don't push it fella!"
He was fine after that, I'd pandered to his ego and I hope, sent a clear, but gentle message.
The worst?
Boys and I do mean boys (11-14) trying to hug me,kiss me, stroke my hair, and pat, poke rulers at, fondle or photograph my bottom.
I might add, that this is a perfectly run of the mill bottom, covered in trousers, no backside cleavage or ghastly thong on display.
I took to wearing a labcoat in the end (which helped, since I'm quite a chesty lady)
The tables have turned,since I was a schoolgirl, we all knew who the leery male teachers were and we avoided them like the plague.
It's a minefield today fella!
My only advice is ,don't be tempted by these Lolitas, never be left alone with them and always tell your colleagues what's going on.
Age and experience will make it easier, I promise you.

If I were a teacher, I'd ban EVERYONE from sucking on a banana!! In your case it's an act of disrespect. I'm sure there's a policy about that at your school. If they're eating (sucking) during class time you have them there too. Check with a Vice Principal or Department Chair for guidance.

I cant understand are they doing this during PE? I have never known a school that would let the students eat in a class especially not one like PE when they are being active. I would try to speak to an older staff member and get their opinion. I hope this helps.

Best thing to do is ignore it... Or be flattered, but not pursue it...
They are just trying to see how far you'll go...
Perhaps speak to the headteacher/principal and explain the situation... At least then, they are in the loop and can suggest the best way to handle the situation... They will probably have a bit of a laugh, but it is better than you getting the sack... :D

I applaud you for your morals...Most guys would enjoy that very much and deny their responsibility...If you laugh about it then it may encourage them to keep goin...If you ignore them then it may cause them to find some other way like maybe dressing in a way to entice...If they keep this up I would probably go to the principal and bring it to their attention...They will keep an eye out on them and may have to talk to these girls...Is sad though...They know you are a teacher and there are standards between teachers and students...Seems to me they are tryin to get you to say something or do something that could end you up in trouble...Stay strong and just report them if you have to...Thank you for showing that there are true men in this world...God bless you

I would notify my superior. This could turn into something else and you would be the one hurt. You can ban them from unwanted sexual advances. A bananna is a fallic symbol. Don't talk to them about it alone do it in the Principal's office. their behavior is not acceptable.
