Good Luck! 5 days is a *very* short time. It usually takes in the order of weeks or months. You can request to speed up the process for an extra fee, but I'm doubtful that you'll get it within the 5 days!

find out where your local passport agency is...you might have to drive a ways. for me, it's in seattle. go to http://travel.state.gov and call 1-877-487-2778 number to make an appointment at your local agency. then when you go in, take your travel documents with you...if you make an early morning appointment it is possible to get it the same day...but you can also make arrangements to come back a day or 2 later.

you can only get a passport on such short notice from the agency if you have documents proving that you are going to travel internationally within the next 14 days...and you must make an appointment before going into their office. read the website carefully as to what official documents you should take with you.

I'm not sure you can get it that fast. I'm assuming you need a US passport? Here's the state dept site for How to Get Your Passport in a Hurry: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_831.html Here's their site with the phone numbers to talk to a Customer Service Rep for "travel emergencies": http://travel.state.gov/passport/about/npic/npic_898.html The phone number is 1-877-487-2778 They can tell you what you need to do.
