You are absolutely correct! AMEN to that! Christianity is being told all over the world. In fact many from other religions are turning to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If indeed it is statistics you are relying on for your belief that Christianity is the largest (guessing, you mean has the most followers)religion in the world. You should be aware that the very same statistics could, and most properly have been pulled another way to prove the reverse.I am unsure how you can say so emphatically ,"this is fact".
If you are so very sure why are you asking for an answer /opinion?
Is it by divine providence?I think not.
I do think, that today's form of Christianity derives itself from an ideology. which has been adopted from a Middle Eastern concept of beliefs that had been, over time altered it to fit Western societies culture.Although this was begun over 2000 yrs ago,if you have studied the development of Christianity you will already be aware, that the church that was originally brought to the shores of Europe ,was indeed a very, very different one that you place your belief in today.
No,I do not think Christianity can claim more or less intervention of divine providence, than any other structured religion that exists in our world today.
I would not like to think God would support the theory that one section of the community are more favored because of the way they show their belief than another.

First of all, Christianity is the most wide spread religion, not necessarily the largest religion. The population density of countries that worship Islam and other religions could easily rival the amount of actually people that are Christian (lets not forget how many people of Asian descent that believe in Buddha, Tho, etc......)
Don't ever forget that Christians originally were suppressed, and that is how Jesus died in the first place.
It is not "divine providence". It is because the right people at the right time decided that Christianity should be the way of life, and those that could afford to spread "The Word".
Look how Asian countries have progressed throughout time. Do they not influence us now? How many Buddhists are there now compared to 100 years ago in the Western world? How many of us live "zen", and decorate Fung Shue? It is all influence.
Everyone does not recognize that God is greater than evil. Crime rates continue to rise, and I rarely ever see people put anyone before themselves, let alone God. A lot of those people go to church every Sunday, and feel they will be redeemed in the end.
Quoting the Bible doesn't make you more informed than anyone else. It is the largest religion to you because it is all you see. Islamics possibly see it the same way. most people that have a fixed perspective on religion do, and in my books that's okay. I think people should have convictions, whatever they may be. The problem en lies within people being intolerant of others beliefs. Its not not about who's right or who's wrong

You've already got so many answers---but I can't resist.
Hey, Bro, I'm a Christian, too, but I don't think it's exactly God's way to spout off in such an egoist manner!
I also am a firm believer in God's love: In fact, He IS LOVE! So why try to browbeat people with Him?
Then there is the matter of how I would rather be part of something that is righteous and holy, rather than simply the LARGEST.
How many souls will you bring to Him with your argument? Would it be possible to win more people to Christ if we showed them the love we keep saying is the benchmark of our God?
But for the record, Christians are NOT the only religious people who kill their wounded.

Rather than the significance of "LARGEST", I would say that being the "MOST DIVERSE" is more impressive because in this way Malachi's prophecy on the clean sacrifice(Jesus Christ) offered to God is fulfilled. As you can see Judaism cannot fulfil this prophecy.
Very impressive prophecy in Malachi, indeed that has come true in every time zone of the world among the Gentiles(rising of the sun to the setting).
(Interestingly the second most diverse religion in the world is not Islam but Bahaism)

The extreme militancy of Christianity and the fact that europe lucked out on conquering North America have a lot to do with it. If you read the methods of converting the heathens practiced by the Christians you will be shocked. No other faith has ever committed such heinous crimes and had the sheer cynicism to label them as good.

As a Christian I would like to say Divine providence, but in a world where preachers do fake healings, can tell people that they read the Bible to much, and tolerate everything thing under the sun. I am tempted to believe that our numbers may be over-inflated by people who say they are Christians but really aren't

Yes is it devine providence. Jesus was the son of a poor carpenter. Now there are very few people in the world who does not know who he is. He may be known by different names but his word is never changing. God is Great!

Well, the only religious people that actively try to recruit me here in Japan are Christians. And back home in America, the only people who tried to convert me were Christians. So, I guess you guys just have more missionaries. That and that little cleansing-of-the-Earth thing you guys did back in the Middle Ages. Intimidating people into your religion, and killing those that don't want to join is a pretty good way to boost your numbers. And they got to carry cool swords.

I think it is quickly falling from this place. People are being more educated and beginning to realize Christianity is illogical-----G-d is G-d. There is no G-d but G-d, and Jesus was a only a good man. But, G-d would never come to earth as a human being--worshiping Jesus is like worshiping the golden calf. Respect and honor him, but to worship him is idolatry.
I am not a Muslim, but it does make alot more sense than Christianity does. And, Judaism make alot more sense, too.
There is no G-d but G-d.
