White dogs tend to be very prone to skin allergies irritations & things of this nature as thier pigmintation is not correct.....white boxers are a result of a pigmentation defect & as a result there are a lot of breeders that put them down at birth as they tend to have a lot of health problems. I do think they are very cute & beautifull but I feel I shoul dtell you that you may have bought into a heafty seriers of vet bills!! BEST OF LUCK & I hope between you & your vet you can keep things unddr control & your pup turns out to be a healthy happy dog!!!

My dog had something similar and it turned out he had mites under his skin, he got them from jumping into a pond. The vet layered the main area which was under his neck in a special cream and within a week or so they started to clear. Good Luck

Hives are a reaction to something specific, like nettle rash when you walk through nettles.
Try to figure out what he may have been in contact with over the last 24 hours, see if you can narrow it down for the vet.
Good luck!

This sort of thing isn't uncommon and might never happen again.
However if it happens regularly you will have to find out what the dog is reacting to.
If you can't work it out yourself - which can be very difficult - your Vet can arrange allergy tests.
I know someone whose German Shepherd developed a big bald patch on its flank. Turned out it was allergic to the owners denims which it rubbed against when they were out walking.

glad you are taking it to the vet. watch him closely until then. if it is a reaction to something and he is still exposed to it the reaction could get worse. watch for more swelling and watch his breathing If he starts to wheeze get him to the vet now. You can give a dog benadryl but try not to because it could mask symptoms when he is at the vet.
as to the mention of sun burn for the future (after this episode is resolved) you do need to watch for sunburn. I worked as a dog musher on a glacier and we had to put sunscreen on the dogs anywhere there hair was thin. i.e. testicles, bellies, nipples, lips, nose, ears...... we used desitin. look for diaper rash medicine that has at least 40% Zinc oxide content. they may lick it off and it does smear on things but protected them.

Has your vet recommended Benadryl? I also have a white Boxer, and 12 other dogs, but have never seen this other when they get vaccination allergies. Included is a link to someone who had similar problems.
I am in rescue, but am in no way a medical expert. Please use this advice and any other advice you get with caution. Please consult your vet to any medical advice ever given to you.
Hugs to your fur baby

he will be fine, I'm sure the lumps would have started to go down by the time you get to the vet.

my boxer does the same thing, but she's a fawn. we never took her to the vet, because it never seemed to bother her. they usally go away after a few hours. we went over the things she had come in contact with and ct them out until she didn't have them anymore. we found out she is allergic to yeast and white flour.
