Many people think that prisons are rough, but what are the good points about them?

I don't think they are "good" for the person that is in them in any way (except maybe that they an't survive outside them?). They are good for society to keep people who are dangerous locked up. Personally, for people who are not a danger to society I would rather see more creative sentencing. Cons should have to give all the money they took back plus interest. Drunk drivers should have to work in hospitals with accident victims. Slumlords should have to live in their rat-infested apartments. Drive home the damage a crime does.

The only good point that I can see about a prison or jail could be that people who are there do not have to pay for their food, bills, taxes.Other than that it is an awful place even to think of.

Free food off course, free accommodation and the chance
for the prisoners to think of their plights whether to repent
or change for the better. These prisoners do have enemies
and their stay inside the cells make them well protected...

The good points about them are the prisoners are protected from their enemies by the prison officers. Another good this is free lodging.

You don't have to support yourself. No responsibilities. It's the perfect place for those people who can't grow up / get a job / take responsibility for their actions. Plenty of time to read and work out. You would have to give up smoking and get clean. You get to network with others just like you so that next time you can be better at what you do.

The good thing about jail is the people who are in jail can no longer victimize the people who aren't in jail.
