My husband is competing this Saturday, & he asked me to be in his corner as his cut man since I am a nurse. Are there only certain meds and tools that the boxing commission allows? I know I only have 1 minute in between rounds to fix him up, and I'm not nervous about it, but I just don't know what's allowed and what will get him ousted from the match.

Thanks for your help!

I suggest going to the school were he is training at. Ask someone who has done it.

I am not sure of your husbands talent or the level of his opponent. But this sport is not to be taken lightly. People can and do get hurt. Contact some of the more reputable gyms in your area, even boxing cut men can be very helpful. Search the web.

There is a chance you can contact the UFC through their website for advice, but Saturday is not far away. And they will frown on his lack of preperation in preparing his corner.

I am not sure. There is a new show starting on Spike TV tonight at midnight called Inside the UFC. They will be talking about cut men during the show.

Well I don't know their official names, but you will need a cold press to smooth over his swelling after rounds. You will need some kind of Vaseline swab into his cuts if he has one. Cuts don't happen in every MMA fight so hopefully you wont have to deal with that, since you have no experience.
