For a quick-fix, stay away from ALL carbs. This includes bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, sugars, etc. Even limit your fruit intake, because fruit has sugar. Eat mainly veggies and meat or fish. Have some dairy, but watch out for yoghurt because it contains sugar. Too much dairy will bloat you up, so maybe one high-calcium serve a day. Also, it wouldn't hurt to do some rigorous cardio exercise as well.
Good luck!

We must remember that quick weight loss though we desire it so much, is not the answer for permanent weight loss. Make sure to increase fiber in your diet, cut back on the sugar, 6-8 servings of fruit and vegetables. Eat about every three hours, to maintain your energy and avoid overeating cuz you're too hungry. Do some cardio exercise in the morning on an empty stomach. Remember to add some strength training to maintain muscle mass, which is so important for long term weight loss. I have now lost a significant amount of weight by doing that. It is not a fast process, but take it one week at a time and aim for 1-2 lbs loss a week.
I am looking into a cleanse program that I read alot of very positive things about, it contains no stimulates but rather helps eliminate toxins from your body. I thought this might complement my program since I am still feeling very tired despite my positive progress. The cleanse also has an added benefit of helping shedding off stuborn pounds. If you want to kickstart your program or add something to your lifestyle change to accelerate your weightloss, this could well be the answer for you. But always your goal is to be HEALTHy and fit, looking good is a byproduct. Shedding the weight and feeling lethargic will do nothing for your self esteem and will only ensure those pounds will come back on. Also you must define your goals and find out why you have not been successful with your weightloss so far. Identify what is keeping you from reaching your goals, then plan strategies to fight those road blocks.

Losing weight first starts with being happy with yourself and loving *YOU* on the inside. Try everyday to smile and laugh, LAUGHING is super helpful. It seems weird but it does! =) Try to follow a 1600 calorie diet.
It's best to have 5 meals a day that way you need get to hungry because that leads to over eating.

Here is a couple ideas to help you get started:

Breakfast:
Oatmeal and a piece of wheat toast w/ 2tsp. trans free margarine. -OR- Strawberry Banana Smoothie (In a blender process until smooth, 1 small banana, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup fat free milk, 1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt, 2 tsp. honey, and 1 or 2 ice3 cubes. You can have your smoothie with 1 or 2 pieces of whole wheat toast. -OR- An egg on a piece of wheat toast with salsa (make 2 servings) ---If you are still huingry at breakfast have a small piece of fruit.
Lunch:
1 cup soup (water based not cream base) and a Cheese and Tomato Sandwich: 2 slices whole wheat bread, 2 slices reduced fat cheese, mustard and sliced tomato. -OR_ instead of the tomato sandwich 2 pieces whole wheat with 2 slices of Turkey and Mustard. -OR- A Lean Cuisine Frozen Meal (These are actually very tasty. The meat is delicious.
Dinner: 1 piece Chicken Breast with 2 side dishes: 1 cup steamed veggies, 1 sweet potato, 3/4 cup corn, 3/4 cup butternut squash, etc.
Dessert:
Light Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt:
3/4 cup with no more than 110 calories per 1/2 cup topped with tablespoon chocalate syrup.
Snacks:
Steamed Veggies, fruit, any nuts (these are great protein),
my personal favorite snack is Light and Fit 60 calorie yogurt cup with a 100 calorie Granola Bar. (I cruch up the Granola Bar and put it inside of my yogurt.)
Also there are alot of great ideas if you go to fast food for example....

Also make sure you do 30 minutes of excercise 5 days a week. I like to walk to the store and back instead of drive =)

WTF. COLD WEATHER DOESN'T make you gain weight. Who told you this ?

Not exercising and overeating make you gain weight. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA and people here work out all year long. In the winter, they walk/run/cross country ski around the lakes. There are downhill ski hills. There is hiking if the snow isn't too deep.

Also, you shouldn't try to lose weight in a very short time, it's hard on your heart/lungs/body.

I do realise, that everybody's not the same.
I live in tropical country, which is no winter. Therefore diet won't be that suffer.
But in my experience, when I was travelling to Europe in winter (December) for 2 weeks; while I have to keep my weight.

There, I keep my habit;
- I don't have any carbohydrate (pasta, noodle, rice etc. for lunch & dinner); Just 1 or 2 piece of toast in the morning with delicious marmalaide jam.
- forget about snack by travelling around with your friend; taking more picture, shopping etc.
- for lunch: I keep eat meat but just for taste how good it is. If possible, I choose fish than red meat or chicken.
- Eat more fruit, especially orange and peach. They could keep me from dried in lips.
- Eat more vegetable, could avoid me from constipation.
- One scope choclate ice-cream or One bite of chocolate sometimes; better than hotdog or sandwich.
- I keep drink my green-tea after meal
- The most important thing, You are a LADY by taking tiny piece of food; however we are not worker that have to eat abundance. Therefore, I name it 'Diet with style'.

Anyway, I put in my mind as long as I'm not lost in the dessert or jungle; then there are much more interesting things in life than food; especially red meat & carbohydrate.

Okay, Just enjoy your live & keep doing diet with style.
