The first was a consequence of the pharoah not releasing the Jews as he was commanded to do by Moses. It just shows that there are consequences for the choices we make.
The second was in something that Jesus spoke of, right? What He was saying is that it would be better to lose a body part, that to allow that body part to sin. One could take that a step further and say that if there's ANYTHING in your life that causes you to sin, you should get rid of it. Or at least, it would be better and easier if you did.
The third is nowhere in the Bible.
The fourth is not said specifically, although Jesus did say that the only way to the Father is through Him. What that comes down to is CHOICE. God does not send people to Hell. They send themselves there.
I hope this helps a little. If you have more questions, feel free to contact me.

One logical thing, if you don't like what you read, then don't read it!
Anyway, you are doing what I use to do before I became a born again Christian, and that is, you are reading parts that sound bad, but really are not. This is satan at work to try and steer you away from God. Read the New Testament and read the blessings from Jesus, also read some Psalms. You will find that God loves us more than we can imagine. It is that he wants pure hearts that truely believe in Him and accept Jesus and understand that Jesus died so we sinners can have a place in the Kingdom of God and live everlasting life. Keep reading and study with others and try to make sence of what you are reading. Soon, it will all make sence and you will understand, as the Holy Spirit will work with you to help you to understand. Good Luck and God Bless.

The rules were made by the leaders of the time. Half of the stuff in the bible is false, the rest is just the writer's opinion. All that violence was put in there to help keep people in line with what the leaders of the religion, or region wanted done. Unfortunately, the world was a violent place back then( and still is in muslim countries) b ut we have evolved socially and no longer need those harsh laws to survive.

I got a Children's Bible because I thought knowing a few bible stories may add to my children's being a little more culturally informed; and I found I had to censor some of the stuff even in that.
It isn't all Jesus standing in a meadow with a bunch of baby animals.
In the end I ended up "banning" from our home library the bible and Grimms Fairy tales. Both are classic literature. Neither are appropriate for children or anyone else who doesn't like violence.

I have studied the bible. Yes it does take years and I will continue to do so. My conclusion as of now is this. The bible is nothing more than a book written by primitive men. That is all. God is imaginary, a crutch for people looking for an answer. God is the everyday mans excuse for what is currently unexplainable. Simple really.

The quote about chopping off your hand is explaining the importance of not sinning. Jesus says if you steal something it is better to cut off your hand than to go and be tempted to steal again. He is simply showing that not sinning is that important. He says it is better to enter heaven without one hand than to go to hell with both. But Jesus doesn't actually want you to chop off a body part that causes you to sin. He wants you to just stop commiting that sin.
Also, the quote about not believing in him means you go to hell no matter how many good deeds you do is not in the Bible.
But it is true that we don't enter heaven according to the good deeds we do. All we need to do to get into heaven is believe in Jesus Christ and have faith in Him. Through true faith in Him everything else will come with it.

Where in the heck did you read 'perform a ridiculous holocaust to please God'?
And where did you read 'Those who don't believe in him will go to hell...?
You dind't read the bible, you read something else! God doesn't say He'll send us to hell if we don't believe in Him...He gives us a choice!
Your questions won't be solved because you've put some of your owns tories here and said they were from the bible!
Read the BIBLE next time!

I dont really understand your English and you have not put in the verses, otherwise I could help you.
What I CAN say is, before you read your Bible, take a moment to pray to Jesus and ask Him to send the Holy Spirit to help you to understand the words.
Jesus bless you friend, you are special. I pray that the Lord will send the right people to help answer your questions.

My suggestion is to really study the Bible before you make any snap decisions. Real Bible study takes years, even under brilliant theologians.
