The jehova witnesses are strong at quoting an old testament verse which says that after this existence is nothing, i think the same verse uses the word darkness.
So, like all mobs and group mentality, scriptures can be found with WRONG intepretations.
Because they wont listen to anyone or anything outside their brainwashed and indoctrinated self taught studies.
The jews are the same way, so are the muslims and the catholics and the protestants and mormons too.
but it is also written though a man were in Hell and cried unto God with the name of jesus, he will live even though he were dead.
my own understanding suggests that if a person is born again he will see life in the spirit world, oh that reminds me! in peter ch.3 does it not also say that Jesus preached unto the souls in the spirit world? or did paul use the word: prison?!!!

Jokes Apart: As per religious text of India, every life object has two existential base. One is outer, made of five basic elements and the other is inner, made of subtle items like Mind, Buddhi and Atman. One life object can act properly when it is balanced properly in two fold parts of it's life and can go on enjoy it's life. But at a particular point of time the two parts of body has to separated as the outer part may not be usuable by the energy of inner part and inner part needs new vehicle to run on. This is the point we describe by the term "Death" in general term.

there are many ways to know as to what happens after death.if you dont know, I'll tell you.when you die, the angel of death will come to take away your soul. & your body will be buried.then your soul will be put back into your body for questioning about your beliefs.& youll be alive in the grave.there will be 2 ferocious angels asking you.if you answer correctly, they will leave u but if u answer in the wrong manner, then you will be punished & your grave will be filled with fire.there are 2 places where the souls abide. waadiussallam(for good souls) & waadie barhoot for( bad souls )that is why it is said that do good & nurtuer your hereafter.

Depends on how you define "know". Technically the knowing part of your body is lights out when you are dead.

So your real question is whether there is consciousness after death - which is unanswerable. That hasn't stopped people from asking that question for thousands of years though.

After you have read John 3:16, continue to verse 17, then read John 5:24, in which Jesus says, " Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him Who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." (NKJV)

The book of John is filled with direct quotes from Jesus' references to life after death. If one believes the Bible is the true, unalterable Word of God, then one has the answer to your question.

I think so. If you want to know what happens after you die..then just have a look at something that is dead. There is no such thing as a soul. It's just wishful thinking run amok.
