i am trying to toilet train my cat and am at the part where i should be lessening the litter everyday.. i was succesful at first when i used a different kind of pie pan (a more rigid one, she poops and pees on it.) but i had trouble punching holes on it, so i bought an aluminum pie pan (a softer one). she pees on it but she doesnt poop on it.. i also read the cats dont like tinfoil on their feet.. what do i ha ve to do?

Hi there again...in reference to your two previous toilet training questions: Cats have trouble with flimsy pans during toilet training because they think they are going to fall into the toilet. They generally step into the pan before positioning themselves on the seat to go. If you can use a stiffer pan and drill holes into that easily this would be a more suitable alternative. Can you purchase some plastic mixing bowls there in the Philippines? These work the best and you can drill holes easily into them.

Here's a couple photos of what the plastic bowl looks like and how the holes are drilled into the bowl: http://www.echeng.com/cats/pooping/

She's holding it because she's not mentally ready for this step just yet. Consider going back a step or two until she consistently is pooping in the the toilet with the pan filled with litter. Defecating (pooping) is the hardest part of the training for cats. The reason is because they have to find the proper stances/footing on the toilet seat in order to balance themselves because when they defecate they arch upward and will wobble. On a narrow ledge this can be mentally difficult for them to overcome so you have to wait it through it until they become more comfortable before moving forward.

You are right, cats do not like going the bathroom on top of aluminum. I would recommend getting a toilet training kit like CitiKitty.
