Im not a fan of oils (unless youve got time on ur hands). i would create a large mixed media piece working with collage, worked over with emulsion, then coloured inks and finally on top with eitiher black pencil or oil pastels.

even try a simple oil pastel resist with ink over oil pastels.

hey try anything if you can afford to (with costs and time) even when it doesnt work you learn from your mistakes + you never know accidental pieces sometimes are the best.

Never Ever Mix Acrylic And Oil Together. As The Previous Answer You Can Put Oil On Top Of Acrylic As Long As The Acrylic Is DRY. Good Luck And Enjoy

Good for you...experimentation is a blast. You CAN use all three mediums at the same time with success IF you follow one basic (and practically unbreakable) rule. Acrylic first, then oils after. NEVER the other way around (I've heard artists say you can if you wait for the oil to dry - uh, sometimes this takes a year...like you'd remember what the heck you were gonna do by this point - and go with acrylic over the top of the oil....er, I dunno. Sounds really risky).
Ok, so...for instance, you can do all your underpainting in acrylic, then go over with oils and oil pastels (gotta wonder if you glazed lightly over the oil pastels - after they set a little - with a way thinned down mix of linseed, japan drier etc...if the oil pastels would dry in our lifetime). I take my hat off to you Stephanie, the last time I played with oil pastels I threatened to chuck em across the room.
Good luck!

Don't mix oils with acrylic if you want the apinting to last. It will crack within a year.

I would never paint with all those at once. I prefer to paint with acrylics. But hey...........experiment for yourself and see what the outcome is. You don't need any ones advice.
