Hi, Just be thankful they are not Macaws. Covering the cage does work. I have an Amazon Yellow Head and he can really get going sometimes. I love his talking, but hate the squawking.

I'd say first check the food and water out(the obvious). If it's not that. They do like toys. We got ours a bell. Don't ever do that unless you like hearing a bell 24/7. I found a key chain works pretty good so as long as the bird can't get stuck in it or hurt.

A shoe lace works too. The bird hops around pulling the lace and pecking the key chain. It's sounds stupid but, the bird likes it. It's a good idea to switch up toys every month or so. It does take a few days for our bird to warm up to a new toy.

It may also be attention. If the bird is driving me nuts I take him out and sit him on his perch this little wooden chair. And I try to get him to speak to him every so often while doing other things. I've only gotten strange gurgle noises and Kissy sounds and mimics of my postures.

Taking a bird out of the cage for an hour is like taking a dog out for a walk. It gets out all the energy and our bird usually just sleeps or shuts up the rest of the day. Telling them to shut will only work for a while trust me I tried it.

Cover the bird cage with something at night. Birds are pretty sensitive to waking hours too. It's best to wake and put them to sleep at the same hours all the time. I wake ours up at 9am and put cover the cage at 9pm.

The old fashioned cure was to cover the cage with something that blocks most of the light, so they go to sleep or at least settle down for the night. I used a cover on mine made of an old dark tablecloth and it worked a charm. Uncover in the morning, cover up at night. Otherwise, during the day you just have to live with a certain amount of noise- they are just noisy birds sometimes.

could be they WANT something. do they make this noise at any particular time of day? what preceeds this boisterous singing? what sex are they? sounds to me like you have 2 boys possibly singing for a girl? Distraction is your best bet. try putting a new toy in their cage. Add a new food to their diet. how many hours of darkness are you giving them? Are they perhaps too cold? too hot? this loud dilemma is solveable you just have to try to find the right solution. You could move their cage to a different place. Hopefully they're not in front of a window overlooking outdoor birds. This is upsetting to any caged creature. Be patient, you'll eventually figure this out: via trial and error....my guys love to watch TV and listen to classical music all night. they each get a different toy box every 2-3 days ( soda bottle caps, straws, popsicle sticks, colored beads, flat glass colored marbles, empty toilet paper rolls cut into different size rolls, tough plastic buttons)

try finding a toy. or get a mate. also where do you you have the bird in the house. I leave my tv on and turn offf the lights. you can also cover up some birds, try talking to it. yjete likke noise but they love to listern to other people and the birds outside callling back and foorth,go to the local libary abd pick up some books to better understand your bird. and there plenty of site on the web, try going to goole.com and pit your question in and search for a pet trainning in your town. But I think yhe bird is just lonely. and by giving it more attended you will see a a more relax bird. I also play music for my bird. There just like people/

not really...parakeets are just noisey birds to begin with. I have zebra finches that make enough noise...especially if something is out of place in"their" room. Look around to see if something is in a different spot from which it normally is...it could be that.

Cover the cage with a towel or blanket. Don't cover it all the time because its making noise they might just need more attention.

I have a Budgie that just won't shutup sometimes!!! I think she just wants attention.
At night or when I'm trying to watch tv, I cover her cage with a large black cloth (its actually a small black cape from my kid's old Halloween costume!!!). I just tried it one time and it worked!
Now Rosie hops onto her swing for a nap when she sees the black cloth coming!
I hope this helps.

Yes-easily -get a dark color blanket and cover their cage entirely. I do that at night mostly (or when they are SUPER SUPER SUPER noisy and I can't hear myself think)...once u cover them they think it's night time and calm down...telling mine ssshhhh loudly works too...good luck...
