Don't use the pc at all while its converting, or burning onto disk.
Take off the screensaver as well.
I assume you mean Family camcorder movies, right? Not the p2p stuff?

In order to make a smooth burning session just remember theres few tips:

Disconnect from the internet

Turn off your virus program temporarily

Unload or exit all the programs that are in your memory (these can be found on the lower most right corner of your screen where your clock is) the lesser the items there, the better

Disable all alerts such as screensaver, etc.

Use the LOWEST burning speed(be patient)

Dont do anything to ur pc nor touch it while burning, just leave it and go back when finishes

dont get on the net and turn off your screensavers and whatnot. ive not noticed any difference when it comes to turning off or leaving on the antivirus software. burn at 8X. this will give you the best audio/video on your burns.

agree with notorious. slow burning is the correct & only solution. your virus proggies have more to do (rare) when you're playing the movie.
