Contact a social service agency in your area. See what programs there are for a young gal with those characteristics. Get all the details, talk to people yourself. Then just be there to support your sister. Maybe you can even get someone to come to your house to talk to her. Consider talking to her family physician as well. Good luck!

Are you a member of a church? Will members of the church come INTO the house (mine do). Depressed people do want to stay home. They feel bad about themselves and even ugly. It takes a long time to tweak the antidepressants to get the right mix...maybe up to two years. If your sister is not responding and your parents are aware, maybe she needs a different kind of antidepressant. They all don't work the same.. Also your little sister is lucky to have a big sister who cares about her like you do (mine does not). Keep talking to her, reassuring her and telling her that you love her and want to be her best friend. She will remember this...trust me this is very important...not only now but in the years to come.

I would talk to her doctor about this first. Maybe he can prescribe her something to help her deal with anxiety. Then see if a psychologist is willing to come to the house to talk to your sister since she won't leave your house. Once he /she talks to her, he/she may even decide that she needs therapy and/or prescriptions. You're a good sister for trying to get her help she needs. Just be there to support her and find the people that can help her through this...Once she talks to a therapists and maybe takes some medicine, she'll be able to leave the house and live a normal life. I hope this helped. Good luck.

I think that I have social anxiety problem too...I am homebody who don't want to go out on weekend...

Don't push her doing what she doesn't want to do because the problem won't be solve just by going out...However you need to get her to see a counselor because public education is important

Try to get her to go familiar social place(school)...ease her into social areas..

Does she act this way long time ago? If she recently has social anxiety attack, then some traumatic event happen in her life...
you need to find out if she sufferes some psychological trauma

Sounds to me like she might need a little more help then her big sister but you probably know this already. Take it slow, don't push her to hard, build up her self esteem, spend time with her doing make up or hair, maybe try to get her to go clothes shopping after awhile. Call some Doctors to get advice but don't give up, never give up when it comes to someone you love.
Good luck

Your a wonderful big sister. Just talk to her and see what you can do to help. Or maybe you can start off small going to a park, or taking a nice long drive and seeing different sights u do that to show her whatz really out there. Hope it works! She'll be okay!

Sounds like she needs to grow up .Tell her from me . Get a life .
But really if she gets out there in the real world for a while she'll probably wonder why she was so afraid in the first place
