I'm curious why Christian leaders (or religious leaders of any kind, but specific to America) move about in armored vehicles accompanied by secret service and guards. God said that He knows the day and place of your death already so technically no matter what you do, you will die when you're supposed to. It is God's Infallible plan. I am a bit irritated to find that our own government prays and claims God as a guiding factor when in all honesty, they don't even believe in Him. Thoughts?

Yes, it should.
Unfortunately, religion and faith are subjects of just lip-service nowadays.
I will share a small anecdote about faith.
Once upon a time there was severe draught in a village. No crops, no water. Animals started dying od thirst and seemed like humans will follow suit.
The village priest arranged for a grand worship ceremony for the village god, who would givev rains to the village if pleased.
He strictly instructed, I will conduct this worship only if all people who partake in this rite have FULL faith in God. If your faith is shaky, no rains. But if you have full faith, by the end of the worship rain shall start.
So on an auspicious day everyone gathered in the village temple. Worship started. Lasted for 5 hrs. But after it finished, no rain.
The priest said, "It means some of you don't have full faith."
Everyone disagreed. They reiterated their faith.
Then the priest said, "If you really had faith that rain shall come after our worshipping, how come none of you bring your umbrellas??"

Thru out the World religion is used to opiate the masses. Governments want the people to believe that there is a man living in a cloud and that if you believe and be good, you'll get a reward after you're dead. It supposed to help insure domestic tranquility.

People use the name of God casually to justify many underhanded acts, and when it suites them it is so irritating when we know full well they are dishonest and use the name of God like a shield to hide behind....God knows, and only he can judge these kind of people whether they believe or not he knows them by their heart, like the saying goes......man sees the outside....but God sees the heart.

If you show to much faith your are a psycho. Example: suicide jihadis. Leaders should not be driven by religious doctrine. Faith is what they use to justify there beliefs but not for living life. Nobody is gonna walk on water by using faith. There not that stupid.

I agree wholeheartedly--people claim to belive in God, but even Nuns and preists are now staying locked away in their cloisters for safety reasons--reality impinges on their faith

You ask some excellent questions.

I think that those who are very spiritual within themselves do not aspire to wealth, fame, and power.

But you know, the best of us and the worst of us are pretty human after all.
