Have had a wedgewood vase given to me and it has letter K stamped on base

The letter usually refers to the year it was made does it have any stars or a number in front of it.

Yes they do on Wedgwood they go in cycles , yours could be in the second or third cycle k could be 1882 or third cycle 1908

it can mean when it was made, it can mean what factory it was made at or it can mean what artist did it. so you have to find someone who knows wedgewood.
