They will both go to Heaven, Insha-allah, but their rewards will vary a lot.
Remember , there are 7 Heavens. Each one is great, but dirrerent than others. The 1st heaven, Jannat-ul-Firdaus is the best. It is only for those who will rank the top.
Also, if you read Hadith, you will find there are varied awards for various good deeds. The man who memorizes the whole Qur'an will get something, which a martyr might won't get. But both will get great awards.
Allah also said whoever put faith in Islamic faith, and didn't do shirk, will be forgiven. This is because He is Most Merciful.
It's not a matter of injustice.
"They end up in the same place" No, they don't. It's not that easy.
Different deeds and levels, different awards.

You remind me of the christian fundamentalists who preach that there will be a window in heaven so they can look into hell and see all of the people who persecuted them and all of the other people who did not go to the right church. They will probably be disappointed to find there is not one and will probably not enjoy heaven because of it. Why is it not enough for you to go to heaven why do you begrudge others. You should be happy they are saved from eternal damnation if you are truly a muslim and believe in Allah. Search your own soul and find out why you feel this way and purge these evil feelings against your brothers before you wind up the one in hell.

it doesn't seem fair, because it seems like you could just screw around until you felt like being pious. this is insincere behavior, though, and Allah certainly can see through this sham.
if someone lives a sinful life and realizes the error of his ways and regrets them, then he should not be excluded. however, if he should be excluded, then he has no incentive to correct them. if you mess around for 37 years and then can't do anything to make up for it, then why not live in sin for the rest of your life? it would all be the same in the end anyway.
humans are sinful beings, and a sincere effort to limit this nature as much as possible is as much as can be expected from us.

That's what you get when you believe in false Gods like Allah or the others that are merely products of men's imaginations to fool ignorant innocents into their power and control .I don't approve of it and I feel sorry for those who are so gullible as to not question
further . Sheep to the slaughter sound familiar? wake up and use your own head for once in your life rather than blindly accepting the false persuasions of the religious ruling class or the foolish parroting of your naive brother.Extricate yourself and be a man by standing on your own two feet and not a puppet of the forces that be . live in peace by standing up to the despots of life that control you by feeding you false teachings designed to manipulate you with misleading information . live in peace and love without the reign of the influence of a false religion that kills and maims the innocent by deceit.

A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.
So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.“But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ “The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf! His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’”

i thought of the same thing.... when i asked the imam at a local mosque he told me that there are different levels of heaven and that each of us will attain what we deserve. he said that on the Day of Judgment there will be no injustice shown.
[23:86] Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme?"
Asalamwalaikum,
Sakina
EDIT: i think many addressed this subject very well when saying it is only our own judgment that we should worry about

if you volunteer to work for me a whole day for $20 and i later higher another person to work for me 1/2 the day for $30 what difference does it make. you said you would work for this amount of money for the whole day. as for allah, God himself is over allah and controls his decisions so you would be best to ask God for allah to have justice. maybe then allah would listen and take heed.

How can there be justice from allah the god who teaches its ok to blow up defenseless men, women and children?
Consider that with over a billion muslems, and NOT ONE OF THEM HAS SAID ANYTHING AGAINST KILLING DEFENSELESS PEOPLE!
How do you expect justice from a holy book that says its OK to rape, pillage and steal from anyone whos not in your tribe?
