Waste disposed of from residential area is called municipal solid waste and waste disposed of from factories and manufacturing units are called industrial solid waste

municipal solid waste is the sewer which is treated and all that yuckie stuff - and the water comes out pure - and the solids can be used for fertilizer

industrial waste can have HEAVY chemicals and crap in it - and must be disposed of properly, not in a river somewhere

municipal solid waste = domestic (house) trashes

industrial solid waste= trash, waste from factories
